Am Ende der "Sonnenallee" ist die Kabine 15102.



At the dead end street in the Bronx: Cabin 15102.

The first impression was that we got into the wrong cabin: it appeared so small.



Erster Eindruck war, dass wir uns wohl vertan haben, weil sie so klein wirkte.

Als erstes gucken wir in die "Nanny"-Kabine...



Let's have a look into the "Nanny"-Cabin.





You had more or less no space in the "Nanny-Room".



Platz gibt es in dem Nanny-Room so gut wie gar nicht.

Besonders groß wirkte alles wirklich nicht.



It did not appear really large too us.

But we had some real flowers.



Wenigstens die Blumen sind echt.

Die Kaffeemaschine läuft auf Testmodus.



The coffee machine was running on a test modus.

Now there was as a working desk, so I must not work anymore at the beauty desk in the bathroom.



Im Wohnzimmer ist jetzt ein Schreibtisch, so dass ich nicht mehr im Bad am Schminktisch arbeiten muss.

Tja... die Betten kann man nicht trennen...



Well... you cannot seperate the bed...

But in the Master Bedroom, it was so narrow that you barely can open the drawers when you sit on your bed.



Aber im Master Bedroom ist es so eng: wenn man auf dem Bett sitzt, bekommt man kaum die Schubladen auf.



Your had more storage in the passage to the Master Bedroom, but what should be stored here? Golf equipment we do not have?



Stauflächen gibt es noch hier im Durchgang zum Master Bedroom, aber was soll da rein? Die Golfausrüstung, die wir nicht haben?

Der Safe wird mit einem Code programmiert.

Our bathroom on NORWEGIAN GEM I had in my memories as large as a ballroom.



Unser Bad auf der NORWEGIAN GEM hatte ich als Tanzsaal in Erinnerung.



We had shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion... In the "Nanny-cabin" you had nothing!!! Even not hair-dryer.



Wir haben Duschgel, Shampoo, Festiger, Körperlotion... In der "Nanny-Kabine" gibt es nichts!!! Auch keinen Fön.





Auf der NORWEGIAN GEM konnte man noch längst sich reinlegen.



On NORWEGIAN GEM you could lay down lenghtwise.

I am 5' 9" tall and have very short legs... You need to fold Bruno before he could use the tub.



Und ich bin "nur" 1,72 m klein und habe kurze Beine... Bruno müsste sich in der Badewanne zusammenfalten.

Wenigstens gäbe es hier einen schönen Ausblick...

To use something in the bathroom, you must knee down like you want to dispose of something.



Für alles im Bad muss man sich runterknien oder bücken, z. B. um etwas wegzuwerfen.

Zurück ins Wohnzimmer: Die Mini-Bar ist verschlossen. Es sei eine Anweisung aus Miami. Anweisung hin oder her: für 1.500 USD kann ich erwarten, dass ich auch für nur eine Nacht ALLE Annehmlichkeiten der Suite genießen kann. Der Concierge meint, dass es keinen Handlungsspielraum gebe und ich ja den Zimmerservice in Anspruch nehmen könnte, wenn ich Durst habe. Wäre ich an der Stelle des Concierges gewesen, hätte drei Flaschen Wasser und zwei Dosen Cola runtergeschafft, um den Gast ruhig zu stellen... Wert lt.Karte weniger als 20 USD (= 1,33 % meines Umsatzes - hochgerechnet auf den Einkaufswert würde ich mal sagen 0,05%...) und dafür riskiert sie es, dass ich dafür einen Brief nach Miami schreibe, was ich sicherlich auch machen werde.



Back to the living room: Die Mini-Bar was locked. It was instructed by Miami. Instructions yes or no: for 1,500 USD I could expect that I can use ALL the amenities in my suite even for one night. The concierge told us that there was no scope of action and that I could use the room service if I am thirsty. If I were the concierge, I would send three bottles of water and two cans of Pepsi to the cabin to calm me down... Value according to the menu less than 20 USD (= 1.33 % of my revenue - and calculated on prices in the supermarket I would say 0.05%) and they had the risk that I will write Miami what I would do definitely.

For Bruno's coffee, everything was available.

Auf Anfrage wird der Testmodus in einen Betriebsmodus umgestellt.



On Request they changed the test modus to an operational modus.

Right were the hooks behind the door.



Gut sind die Haken hinter der Tür.

Nun die Klimaanlage... anscheinend mehr schon für die Bermudas später ausgelegt. Für eine Nacht verzichtet Bruno auf das Abkleben. Ich muss aber in der Nacht die Balkontür öffnen, weil es noch nach Lösungsmittel riecht.



The air-condition... obviously constructed more later for the Bermudas. For one night Bruno did not make his arrangement to divert the air. But I need to open the balcony door in the night because you still could smell solvents.

Fruits and canapés came in the late afternoon after we returned from the life drill.



Obst und Canapé kommen erst am späten Nachmittag, als wir von der Seenotrettungsübung zurück sind.

Ein paar warme Worte mit den Öffnungszeiten der Restaurants...



Few words of welcome with the opening times of the restaurants.

A balcony fits for a family who is all artist. Officially you can accommodate 6 guests. The balcony only fits if 3 are sitting one upon the other. The picture on their website https://www.breakaway.ncl.com/ship/staterooms/the-haven-2-bedroom-family-villa-with-balcony/ where you could see the sunbed would allow the use of 1 guest only.



Ein Balkon für eine Artistenfamilie. Offiziell ist die Kabine für 6 Personen ausgelegt. Der Balkon passt nur dann wenn nur drei übereinander sitzen. Die Abbildung hier auf der Homepage https://www.breakaway.ncl.com/ship/staterooms/the-haven-2-bedroom-family-villa-with-balcony/ mit der Liege würde dann voraussetzen, dass der Balkon nur von einer Person genutzt wird.

Es gibt wohl größere Balkone, aber nicht für die Gäste von The Haven...

When we entered our suite in on NORWEGIAN GEM 2009, everything was ready for us.



Damals auf der NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 stand alles schon bereit, als wir eingezogen sind.

Uns wurde von unserem Butler alles erklärt.



Our butler explained everything we need to know.

Everything that we need to know was available.



Alles, was wir wissen mussten, lag da.

Sogar in den richtigen Sprachen. Ein deutsches Programm bekamen wir nicht einmal auf Nachfrage!



Even in the correct language. We asked for a German program but we have never got one.

And you can make phone calls while you were staying in your toilet.



Und auf der Toilette kann man sogar telefonieren...

Für Nassrasierer gab es einen Ständer für die Rasierer und Flüssigseife...



You had even a rack for your shavers and a dispenser for liquid soap.

We had the correct bath ropes waiting for us. When we arrived, there were only waffle bath ropes were hanging which were taken by Eddie and Frances because they wanted to see the whirlpool and they had nothing. Apparently, they were not informed that we were a party of 4.



Die richtigen Bademäntel hingen von anfang an drin. Zunächst hingen hier nur die Waffelbademäntel, die wir aber Eddie und Frances gegeben haben, weil sie gerne in den Whirlpool wollten und bei denen gar nichts war. Offensichtlich lag hier die Information nicht vor, dass wir zu viert waren.

Unser Balkon damals war so groß, dass eine Liege reinpasste und auf Anfrage hatte uns damals unser Steward noch eine dritte Sitzgelegenheit gebracht, damit meine Schwester auch auf den Balkon sitzen konnte.



Our balcony had the size that a sunbed fit in and on request, our steward got us the third seat so my sister could also stay with us on the balcony.

But apparently, NCL read my blog and noticed that I did not like to work at the beauty desk in the bathroom. Now they moved it into the Master Bedroom.



Wenigstens hat NCL meinen Blog gelesen und mitbekommen, dass ich so ungern am Schmiktisch im Badezimmer arbeite. Der ist jetzt im Schlafzimmer.

Und in der "Nanny-Innenkabine" wurde man behandelt wie in der Suite selbst: es gab die gleichen kleinen Fläschchen mit den Elemis-Produkten. Nun gibt es nichts. Und das im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Die Seifenspender wurden erst auf Anfrage aufgefüllt. Wenn ich das jetzt so detailliert schildere dann mit zwei Zielen: NCL soll ruhig lesen, dass jede Neuerung keine Verbesserung ist und hoffentlich viele Punkte dann auf den Breakaway Plus-Schiffen wieder verbessern.



And in the "Nany-Inside-Cabin" you were treated same as the guests in the Suite: you had the same detergents like the Suite-Guests: Elemis in small bottles. Now they had nothing. But that was true. The dispensers were filled up after we requested it. If I show here all the details I have one target: NCL should read that all new features do not mean improvement and I hope that they will improve the situation on the Breakaway Plus-ships.
