Tag/Day 0.3 Pre-Cruise vor der/before NORWEGIAN JADE in Florenz/Florence - San Gimignano, Italy

Da es sehr kühl war, war es nach wenigen Minuten notwendig sich mal aufzuwärmen. Wir gehen in die Osteria Santa Maria Novella.



As it was somehow chilly we need to warm up after few minutes. We went to Osteria Santa Maria Novella.

We were asked if we liked to stay at the bar or to sit so they charged us 4.00 EUR per Cappucino.



Da wir gefragt werden, ob wir an der Theke stehen oder sitzen wollen, werden uns halt 4,00 EUR pro Cappucino abgerechnet.

Und nun mal von vorne: Susanna Probst. Wir sind so begeistert, dass wir sie auch für Siena gebucht haben.



And now from the front: Susanna Probst. She did her job so good that we booked her for Siena too.

Through these narrow streets we continued. Sometimes you need to make a 90° turn in your car. If you have a car which is larger than a Fiat 500 you will have a lot of trouble to make the turn around the corner.



Durch die engen Straßen geht es weiter. Manchmal muss man im Auto im 90° Winkel abbiegen. Wer ein größeres Auto als einen Fiat 500 hat, hat keine Chance, um die Ecke zu kommen.

Irgendjemand suchte mal in Civitavecchia einen Waschsalon. Damals wussten wir nicht, nach welchem Begriff wir in den gelben Seiten suchen sollten: Lavarapido.



Someone was looking for a laundromat in Civitavecchia. Then we had no idea what should we look for in the yellow pages: Lavarapido.







Mit Interesse sehen wir dieses Schild.



It was very interesting to see this sign.

Susanna had more samples of the French artist Clet Abraham with her.



Susanna hat noch mehr Beispiele des französischen Künstlers Clet Abraham dabei.



We passed Rivoire: the most yummi Florentine cookies, then the most expensive Cappucino (we learned on this voyage that you could increase the amounts) and the collapsed toilet-seat... I will see the place again once I win in the lottery.



Wir kommen bei Rivoire vorbei: der leckerste Florentiner, der damals teuerste Cappucino (wir erfahren auf dieser Reise noch Steigerungen) und der zusammengebrochene Toilettensitz...  Ich besuche den Laden wieder, wenn ich im Lotto gewonnen habe.

Das sind so die kleinen Geschichten, die man nur von einer Fremdenführerin erzählt bekommen. Ich würde an so etwas vorbeilaufen.

I am a standard philistine and need to obey that I was interested to learn when it was presented the way Susanna did it.



Ich bin normaler Kulturbanause und gebe zu, dass ich mich sogar dafür interessiere, wenn es so vermittelt wird, wie es Susanna macht.

Weiter geht es zum Palazzo Strozzi. Der Begriff "strotzen" kommt wohl von der Ausstrahlung der Familie Strozzi. Beim Durchgehen erklärt sie uns viele Details rund um das Gebäude.



We headed to Palazzo Strozzi. The German expression "strotzen" for to abound has its origin from the charisma of the Strozzi Family. When we went trough she enxplained many details of the building.

Now we came in a district my female employee should skip. Susanna explained Hans and Erika that you can make good bargains as it is cheaper than in Germany. So the German bank Deutsche Bank had the right location for any credit business you might need when you shop in this district. They had also something for fans of Michael Schumacher. So a district not just for women.



Wir kommen nun in einen Bereich, den meine Mitarbeiterinnen unbedingt dringendst wieder überspringen sollten. Susanna erklärt Hans und Erika, dass es hier günstiger ist, als in Deutschland. Außerdem hat die Deutsche Bank sich schon richtig positioniert, um Kredite zu vergeben, wenn man hier in der Umgebung einkaufen will. Und für die Michael-Schumacher-Fans ist auch etwas dabei. Also eine Gegend nicht nur für Frauen.

Weiter geht es zum Piazza della Repubblica.



We headed to Piazza della Repubblica.







Weil Feiertag ist, gibt es eine Oldtimer-Ausstellung auf dem Platz.



Because it was a public holiday they had an oldtimer show on the square.

I asked the policemen and women if I can take a picture of them. So all in my back took their cameras too and none was facing to me anymore...



Ich frage die Polizisten, ob ich sie fotografieren kann. Darauf hin zücken alle hinter mir ihre Kamera und mich guckt keiner mehr an...

Weiter geht es zum Dom: die Kathedrale Santa Maria del Fiore.



We headed now to the Dome: The Cathedrale Santa Maria del Fiore.



Weil Feiertag ist, dürfen wir nicht in den Dom hinein. So erklärt uns Susanna draußen die vielen Details an den Türen und Außenfassaden. Schon seit Jahren habe ich nicht mehr so viel in einer kurzen Zeit gelernt.



Because of the holiday we were not allowed to enter the Dome. So Susanna explained us outdoor many details of the doors and wall covering substrate. I have not learned so much in so short time for many many years.
