Tag/Day 4 auf der/on NORWEGIAN SUN in Puerto Madryn, Argentina

Wieder ein schöner Sonnenaufgang. Nicht ganz so schön, wie zwei Tage zuvor, aber dennoch so fesselnd, dass ich einfach das offene Deck nicht verlassen kann und dort gefangen bin. Auch die Crew sieht das so. Ich nutze die Chance dieses Bild von Ana Mejia, Man Zhao, Venus Tan und Albert Antonio aufzunehmen. Irgendwie bewundere ich sie: jeden Morgen können sie das sehen, aber auch jeden Morgen treffe ich sie hier, wie sie alles saubermachen und aufbauen. Und wie immer werde ich freundlichst morgens von denen begrüßt. Eine tolle Crew.



We had again another beautiful sunrise. Not as beautiful as the one I had two days ago, but it was breathtaking that I was not able to leave the open deck and was caught up there. The crew shared the impression. I used the chance to take a picture of Ana Mejia, Man Zhao, Venus Tan, and Albert Antonio. Somehow, I admire them: they could see it every morning, but also I see them every morning, how hard they were working to clean and to set up here everything. And every morning they greeted me most friendly. A great crew.

I needed to have a small bite already in Moderno. Unfortunately, there was never butter for the croissants with breakfast for early risers. Only later, when the ”regular” breakfast was set up. Here, I also found an unsweetened plain yogurt for Bruno, which came from Miami, FL but was originally made in Germany.



Ich muss eine Kleinigkeit im Moderno schon essen. Leider gibt es keine Butter zu den Croissants beim Frühstück für Frühaufsteher. Erst später, als das "normale" Frühstück aufgebaut wird. Hier finde ich auch einen ungesüßten Naturjoghurt für Bruno, der aus Miami kommt, aber in Deutschland hergestellt wurde.

Ich gucke mir auch mal an, was es später zum Frühstück im Garden Café gibt. Eine Gesundheitsecke mit laktosefreien oder glutenfreien Produkten wie zuletetzt auf der KONINGSDAM 2016, GRAND PRINCESS 2018 oder QUEEN MARY 2 2018 gibt es nicht. Aber auf Anfrage: man will damit verhindern, dass es öffentlich ausliegt und später vernichtet werden muss, weil es nicht wieder eingesetzt werden darf. Hier gibt es sogar Porzellan-Tassen: Warum also nicht unten im Atrium Café? Sehr schön sind die neuen Mini-Gewächshäuser an der Wand. Das sind echte Pflanzen, die auch bewässert werden müssen.



I was also checking for their offer on breakfast later in the Garden Café. There was no healthy corner with lactose- or gluten-free items like we found recently on KONINGSDAM 2016, GRAND PRINCESS 2018, or QUEEN MARY 2 2018. But on special request: they tried to avoid a public presentation, and it needed to be discarded later and cannot be used again. Here they also had porcelain cups: why not in the Atrium Café. The mini-greenhouses on the wall were very nice. Those were true plants, which needed to be watered too.

I was surprised: when I went on NCL before, I had extreme high results in the “yellow” range. The cruise was supporting me. I was in the right way. I needed to convince my health insurance that they would cover the costs of the journey.



Ich bin überrascht: wenn ich sonst mit NCL gefahren bin, hatte ich so extrem hohe Werte im "gelben" Bereich. Die Kreuzfahrt bekommt mir gut. Ich bin auf dem richtigen Weg. Ich muss jetzt nur noch bei meiner Krankenversicherung durchbekommen, dass sie Kosten der Kreuzfahrten übernimmt.

Wir gehen ins Seven Seas Hauptrestaurant... die Dame links hatte ich doch gerade eben erst am Büffet getroffen...

I let them serve only two slices of watermelons. They would need to discard any leftovers. The new cottage cheese tasted terrible. Obviously, they had a new supplier.



Ich lasse mir nur zwei Scheiben Wassermelonen geben. Der Rest müsste sonst weggeworfen werden. Der neue Hüttenkäse schmeckt leider gar nicht. Sie haben wohl einen neuen Lieferanten.

I asked for some rye-bread with caraway: yummy. It was so beautiful that it was back again. I cut some bacon bites into my congee. I asked only for two slices of bacon. But they were all afraid that I might die on hunger.



Ich lasse mir noch mein Roggenbrot mit Kümmel kommen: Lecker. Schön, dass es wieder da ist. Ich schneide mir noch ein bisschen Speck in mein Congee. Ich wollte bloß nur zwei Scheiben Speck haben. Aber sie haben Angst, dass ich verhungere.

Ankunft in Puerto Madryn. Einzelne Seelöwen erwarten uns bereits im Hafen. Igor und andere laufen alle mit Winterjacke und Wollmütze herum. Es ist eine lange enge Pier, aber hier gibt es später gar kein Problem mit dem direkt vor dem Schiff abgeholt zu werden. Auch hier: die Crew macht alles, damit Ekkehard mit von Bord kann, obwohl es wieder so steil und eng ist. Auch heute gehen wir verhältnismäßig spät von Bord. Deswegen ist es schön leer. Wir haben nicht das Chaos wie in Montevideo. Am Ende des Piers gibt es auch einen Geldautomaten und mit der PRINSENDAM und ARTANIA wird der Ausbau des Piers beworben. Ich wünschte, dass ich nochmals die Chance hätte mit der PRINSENDAM mitzufahren, bevor sie zur VASCO DA GAMA wird. Keine Chance. Die ARTANIA kennen wir von einer Reise als ARTEMIS 2010 (bevor sie zur ARTANIA wurde) und auf der ARTANIA 2014. Für 2020 ist eine weitere Reise mit ihr geplant. Man muss nicht einmal bis zum Ende des Piers laufen, weil ein kostenloser Shuttle angeboten wird.



We arrived in Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Single sea lions were waiting for us in the port. Igor and others walked around with winter jacket and wool caps. It was a long narrow pier, but there was no problem to be collected here from the ship. Here too: the crew did everything to allow Ekkehard leaving the ship although it was steep and narrow. But that day too, we went relatively late off the ship. So it was very calm. There was not such chaos as we had in Montevideo, Uruguay. At the end of the pier, you could find an ATM, and they advertised the upgrade with the ships PRINSENDAM and ARTANIA. I wished I could go on PRINSENDAM before she would leave the fleet and become VASCO DA GAMA soon. No chance. ARTANIA we knew from previous cruises on ARTEMIS 2010 (before she was transferred to ARTANIA) and ARTANIA 2014. And in 2020 we are planning to go and see her again. There was no need to walk along all the pier because a complimentary shuttle was offered.

Puerto Madryn was the meeting point of the familiar faces: Security Officer Joe Essen we knew from NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (2) and a huge surprise: Our cabin stewardess from NORWEGIAN ESCAPE 2015 Sarmita "Sammy" Auguste. The world was small. Apart from that, you saw some other familiar faces at the pier.



Puerto Madryn ist der Treffpunkt der bekannten Gesichter: Security Officer Joe Essen kennen wir von der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (2) und eine ganz große Überraschung: Unsere Kabinenstewardess von der NORWEGIAN ESCAPE 2015 Sarmita "Sammy" Auguste. Klein ist die Welt. Ansonsten sieht man auch mal so am Pier ein paar bekannte Gesichter.

Agencia All Península Valdés hat für uns alles arrangiert. Das ganze lief sehr gut. Außer die Begleichung der Anzahlung war etwas komplizierter, da wohl noch nicht jede Bank in Argentinien Auslandsgeschäfte machen darf. Später haben wir uns kurzerhand darauf geeinigt, dass ich alles in bar bezahle. Ihr Büro ist direkt am Ende der Pier. Auch hier ist es kein Problem in USD oder Euro zu bezahlen. Die Betreuung durch Cynthia Gallardo und Belén Marina Rivas lief sehr gut. Wir bekommen Broschüren mit, damit wir zu Hause nachlesen können, welche Tiere sich hier in diesem Gebiet aufhalten und dass es sich lohnt eines Tages wiederzukommen, um mehr zu entdecken. Für Wale sind wir schon einige Wochen zu spät. Die sind schon wieder weg. Unsere Führer Juan Carlos und unser Fahrer Alberto holen uns in einem passenden Gefährt pünktlich ab. Juan Carlos stammt noch von den indianischen Ureinwohnern, die hier mal ansässig waren. So erfahren wir nicht nur viel über die Tiere, sondern auch sehr viel mehr über seine familiären Wurzeln.



Agencia All Península Valdés arranged everything for us. It worked pretty well. But paying the deposit, which went more complicated since not every bank were participating in international banking. Later we agreed to pay everything in cash in their office. Their office was just a the end of the pier. Here it was no problem either to pay in USD or Euro. Cynthia Gallardo and Belén Marina Riva took very well care of us. We got brochures which would allow us to check at home which animals were present in this area and worth to come back to see them one day. It was too late to see whales for a few weeks. They were already leaving again. Our tour guide Juan Carlos and our driver Alberto collected us with an appropriate vehicle on time. Juan Carlos originated from the native Indian people who were based here. So we did not only learn a lot on animal life but also a lot of his family roots.

We went to Punta Loma. None of the big buses from the ship were around. We visited a sea lion colony. You could see by swimming off a boat to the sea lions, or you had along the top of the cliffs some observation platforms to observe the life of the sea lions. We had luck: on the parking lot, a sea lion baby was moving around. Unfortunately, it was injured. The Rangers protected it and insisted us to keep a distance and would not stay on its way. It was only beautiful here, and we felt very close to nature because you could think that it was important for Juan Carlos that you get connected with wildlife.



Wir fahren nach Punta Loma. Keine großen Busse vom Schiff. Wir besuchen eine Seelöwenkolonie. Entweder man schwimmt vom Boot aus zu den Seelöwen oder man hat oben entlang der Steilküste Aussichtsplattformen, von denen man das Treiben der Seelöwen zugucken kann. Wir haben Glück: auf dem Parkplatz hält sich ein Seelöwenbaby auf. Leider verwundet. Die Ranger beschützen es und beharren darauf, dass wir Abstand halten und nicht im Wege stehen. Hier ist es einfach nur schön und wir fühlen uns der Natur sehr nahe, weil man Juan Carlos anmerkt, dass ihm das wichtig ist, dass wir mit der Natur verbunden sind.

Weiter geht es zum Aussichtspunkt Punta Cuevas, an dem wir schön die NORWEGIAN SUN sehen können, aber auch noch am Indio Tehuelche-Denkmal mehr über indianischen Ureinwohner erfahren.



We headed for the observation point, Punta Cuevas. From here we could see NORWEGIAN SUN, but also we could learn here more of the native Indian people at the Indio Tehuelche-Memorial.

Since we liked the tour with Juan Carlos and Alberto very much, we made the suggestion that we should have lunch together at the shoreside and we asked them for a proposal of something non-touristic. We should go to Matilde. There we ordered some mix-grills plates and salads, which we could share. It was so much that we could have some doggy-bags for their families. Here we learned that it was not usual to order for himself steak by steak but to order the meat-plates (with beef and lamb) and to share them with others. It was a fantastic food experience. For a little more than in Montevideo, Uruguay, we could get 13 people (and some more) full. I was not joining in Montevideo the lunch: but it was half of the group who went, and they paid nearly about the same.



Da uns der Ausflug mit Juan Carlos und Alberto sehr gut gefallen hat, schlagen wir vor, dass wir hier gemeinsam mit ihnen an Land essen und bitten um einen Vorschlag für etwas nicht-touristisches. Wir sollen zu Matilde gehen. Dort bestellen sie ein paar gemischte Grillplatten und Salate, die wir uns teilen sollen. Das ist soviel, dass wir eine Menge denen beiden für ihre Familien mitgeben können. Wir lernen hier, dass man nicht ein Steak für sich bestellt, sondern solche Fleischplatten (mit Rind und mit Lamm) mit mehreren teilt. Es ist ein ganz tolles Essenserlebnis. Für etwas mehr als in Montevideo bekommen wir hier 13 Leute (und noch ein paar mehr) satt. Ich war ja in Montevideo nicht mit dabei: aber da waren ja nur die Hälfte der Gruppe mittags zum Essen unterwegs und haben fast annähernd so viel bezahlt.

Ich muss jeden Tag zur Rezeption. Also gucke ich auch immer nach, ob immer noch alles ausgebucht oder Gäste schon fluchtartig in Montevideo das Schiff verlassen haben. Das Schild steht immer noch da. Und immer werden noch fleißig Ausflüge in Deutsch beworben, und irgendwann den Teilnehmern erklärt, dass sie doch alles in Englisch mitmachen müssen. Wir werden gebeten bei der Rezeption vorzusprechen: Sie fragen nach, ob alle Reparaturen zu unserer Zufriedenheit erfolgt sind. Nun das Schiff ist älter und die sanitären Anlagen nicht mehr die neuesten. Also kommt es vor, dass mal etwas daran gemacht werden muss und der Fön ist auch wieder in Ordnung. Das melde ich zurück. Bisher habe ich immer nur 10 USD in 1 USD-Noten jeden Tag gewechselt bekommen. Weder die bisherigen Mitarbeiter der Rezeption noch das Casino wollten bislang mehr wechseln. Nun habe ich Glück: Helen Inojales schlägt vor, dass sie zusammen mit ihren Kollegen Renata Chan und Luis Deschamps guckt, wieviele 1-USD-Noten haben, um mir ein 100 USD zu wechseln. Und in der Tat helfen sie mir weiter. Danke Helen für die Initiative! Wenn alle so nett wären, wie sie, hätte ich mich auch über tägliche Probleme gefreut.



I needed to see every day at the front desk. So I was checking if it still was sold out or guests escaped off the ship in Montevideo. The sign was still there. And they were still advertising for shore excursions in German, but later, they explained that they had to participate the English ones. The guest services asked us to contact them since they wanted to doublecheck if all repairs were done to our satisfaction. But the ship was older, and the sanitary facilities were not the newest. So it could happen that something needed to be fixed and the hairdryer was fixed too. That was what I reported back. Until now I got only 10 USD changed to singles every day. Neither the representatives I met before nor the casino were willing to change more. Now I had luck: Helen Inojales suggested that she and her co-workers Renata Chan and Luis Deschamps should check together how many singles they would have to change 100 USD. And indeed together they were able to help. Thanks to Helen for taking the initiative! If everyone were so nice as her, I would be happy to have daily problems.

And towards the other direction.

Also here, they hold the memories of the Falkland war highly.



Auch hier wird die Erinnerung an den Falkland-Krieg hochgehalten.

Nur liegt das Denkmal auf der Seite des Piers, die weg von der Stadt führt. Und auf dem Weg dahin, lungern nicht nur vertrauenswürdige Gestalten herum.



But the memorial was on the other side of the pier away from the city. And on the way to this place, some not very truth worthy guys were hanging around.

If you found the fin of the whale, it would be easy to see the access to the pier.



Wenn man die Flosse des Wals findet, findet man auch den Eingang zum Pier.

Aber egal an welchen Gestalten ich vorbei muss: von hier kann ich schöne Fotos von der NORWEGIAN SUN machen. Zuvor von dem Aussichtspunkt, ist sie doch sehr weit entfernt und von der Stadtseite aus, liegt immer der Pier dazwischen. Ich tue immer so, als ob ich nicht genügend Bilder von NORWEGIAN SUN hätte. Dabei habe ich schon tolle von der NORWEGIAN SUN 2012-Reise. Ich bin aber Shipspotter: ich kann nie genug haben.



No matter, which creations I needed to pass: it was a place to make good photos of NORWEGIAN SUN. Before at the observation point, she was too distant, and from the city side, the pier was always in between. I always did it like I would not have enough pictures of NORWEGIAN SUN. But I had so many from our NORWEGIAN SUN 2012-voyage. I am shipspotter: I cannot have enough of them.

Since I was walking around by myself, I could not ask the others if they also would like to have some coffee and party. For just 2 USD I got that all at Lyons Café. Never again Montevideo, Uruguay!



Da ich ja alleine unterwegs bin, kann ich die anderen nicht fragen, ob sie auch ein Tässchen Kaffee und Gebäck wollen. Für nur 2 USD bekomme ich im Café Lyons das alles. Nie wieder Montevideo!

Und zurück an Bord hat Rodalyn wieder an uns gedacht.



And back onboard, we found out that Rodalyn was thinking of us.

We had a very orderly cabin steward. He fixed our loose cables with a rubber ring.



Wir haben wirklich einen sehr ordentlichen Kabinensteward: alle losen Kabel werden mit einem Gummiband zusammengefunden.

Und später wie üblich: Werbung (Wir müssen mal den Aufkleber von unserem Briefkasten "Bitte keine Werbung!" mitbringen), das Tagesprogramm und unser Handtuchtier.



And later as usual: Advertising (we need to take a sticker from our home with us: ”No advertising please!”), the Daily Programme, and our towel animal.

Since I met Sammy in the city, I wanted to deliver her some Swiss sweets too. She was part of my great memories, and such meetings would become part of the pro NCL account. She got an additional point since she also asked for Bruno and so we went to see her together, to remember that we disliked NORWEGIAN ESCAPE 2015 because she was too giant for us and we felt extremely well here on onboard because the ship was so beautiful and tiny.



Da ich Sammy ja mitten in der Stadt getroffen hatte, muss ich jetzt ihr noch ein Leckerli vorbeibringen. Sie ist ja Teil meiner guten NCL-Erinnerungen und solche Begegnungen werden ja immer auf das Pro-NCL-Konto gebucht. Sie bekommt einen Zusatzpunkt, weil sie auch sofort nach Bruno gefragt hat und deswegen gehen wir sie auch zusammen besuchen, um uns zu erinnern, dass wir eigentlich die NORWEGIAN ESCAPE 2015 nicht mögen, weil sie uns einfach zu groß ist und wie wohl wir uns hier an Bord fühlen, weil das Schiff eben so schön und klein ist.

Bei Starbucks gibt es nicht nur Kaffee, sondern auch Tee, der aus einem hochwertigeren Beutel kommt.



With Starbucks, you could not get only coffee but also tea, which was served in a high-quality bag.

And because they got especially for me a container of lactose-free milk at the bar, I could also try all the cold coffee specialties. If there would not be the plastic cups, I could be thrilled here.



Und weil sie extra für mich eine Packung laktosefreie Milch an der Bar haben, kann ich auch alle kalten Kaffeespezialitäten durchprobieren. Wenn nicht die Plastikbecher wären, wäre ich richtig glücklich hier.

Wir haben unseren freien Abend, weil morgen wieder Seetag ist. D. h. wir können einfach in unserer Oase sitzen und uns von Réka, Matyas und Ábel von Atlantis Strings mit schöner klassischen Musik unterhalten.



We had a night off because the next day would be a day at sea. I.e., that we could simply sit in our oasis and let Réka, Matyas, and Ábel of Atlantis Strings entertain us with nice classical music.

For many years I did not buy any CD. Since they were playing the Canon in D-Major by Johannes Pachelbel and Air (Orchestral Suite No. 3 D-Major BWV 1068) by Johann Sebastian Bach and both were on their CD, I had to buy it!



Seit vielen Jahren habe ich keine CD mehr gekauft. Nach dem sie jedoch den Kanon in D-Dur von Johannes Pachelbel und die Air (Orchestersuite Nr. 3 D-Dur BWV 1068) von Johann Sebastian Bach gespielt hatten und diese Stücke auch auf ihrer CD sind, muss ich sie kaufen!

Wir nutzen unseren Gutschein, den wir als Latitudes Platinum Plus-Mitglied bekommen, um in La Cucina zu essen. Zuletzt waren wir auf der NORWEGIAN GETAWAY 2017 drei Mal dort essen: das lag an der tollen Karte, die es da gab und das Rib-Eye-Steak (mein Lieblingssteak) war einfach himmlisch. Vor allem waren wir dort, weil wir einen tollen Freund als Kellner hatten: Lloyd Cucanan. Da wussten wir immer, dass wir es gut haben. Hier haben wir Pech: es gibt die Speisekarte nicht mehr und damit gibt es auch mein Rib-Eye-Steak nicht mehr. Statt Llyods Service genießen wir den tollen Service von Vergenia Odtuhan. Mit dem Gutschein darf man nur eine Vorspeise, nur einen Hauptgang und nur ein Dessert nehmen. Da Bruno schon sieht, dass er kein Dessert mag, fragen wir nach, ob wir stattdessen eine zweite Vorspeise haben dürfen: Die Restaurantleitung vor Ort sagt NEIN! Ein Wort, das wir eigentlich von NCL extrem selten hören. Wir essen seit unserer Reise auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2008 im italienischen Zuzahlrestaurant bei NCL. Man landet hier im Himmel oder in der Hölle. Wir sind ja nun ausgerechnet Fans von Olivenöl und Balsamessig. Zuletzt waren wir auf der GRAND PRINCESS 2018-Reise in Ensenada zu einer Olivenölprobe und haben mehrere Flaschen mit nach Hause genommen - und nach der MSC MERAVIGLIA 2017-Reise in Modena zur Essigprobe. Aber das Olivenöl und vor allem der Balsamessig zieht einem die Schuhe aus und stammt aus der Hölle! Der Salat mit Birne und Brie wird flottenweit mein neuer Lieblingssalat und Teil des Himmels. Nach den himmlischen Muscheln in Le Bistro nehme ich den Fisch, weil Muscheln drin sind. Das kam aber wieder aus der Hölle: der Fisch ist trocken und hart und die Muscheln schmecken leider überhaupt nicht. Eine Alternative bietet man mir an: da ich aber den kleinen Magen habe: ich habe nur einen goldenen Schuss und der ist weg für heute Abend. Die Restaurantleitung vor Ort besteht trotzdessen, dass ich die Differenz über die 25,00 bzw. 28,00 USD begleiche: 1,99 USD plus 20% Service Charge. Als wir bei der Restaurantleitung vor Ort nach zwei Espressi Macchiati fragen, wird bei uns nachgefragt, was das sei und dass es nur bei Starbucks erhältlich wäre. Eigentlich wäre es jetzt der richtige Moment, um zu gehen. NORWEGIAN SUN 2012: wieviele Espressi Macchiati hat uns Elena aus der Hauptgalley serviert, in der auch das Essen für La Cucina zubereitet wird? Was unterscheidet dann gutes von sehr gutem Personal: Vergenia "fällt" ihrem Vorgesetzten "in den Rücken". Sie beherrscht jedoch nicht nur verbale Kommunikation, sondern auch Körpersprache. Wir verstehen: "Sirs, bleiben Sie einfach sitzen. Bitte fangen Sie mit Ihrem Tirami Su an. Ich kümmere mich um Ihre Espressi Macchiati!". Und sie hat ein tolles Gespür für die Bedürfnisse ihrer Gäste. Ein Gast, der den Gutschein mitbringt, muss ein sehr guter Gast sein und soll man ihn; jetzt wegen 2,39 USD verärgern? Sie leitet kurzerhand Wilson zu uns, der sich bei den Gästen erkundigt, ob alles nur in Ordnung ist. Das gibt mir dann Gelegenheit zu erzählen, wie toll die Muscheln in Le Bistro waren im Vergleich zu der heutigen Muschel. Er sagt nur: "Geben Sie mir die Rechnung und geben Sie uns eine neue Chance, wenn Sie wieder Lust und Platz haben" und gibt mir den Gutschein zurück.



As Latitudes Platinum Plus-Member we got a voucher to have a dinner in La Cucina. Last time on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY 2017 we went there to dine three times: it was because of a wonderful menu, they had, and they had a heavenly rib-eye-steak (my favorite steak). But there was another good reason to go there: we had a good friend as a waiter there: Lloyd Cucanan. So we always knew, that everything would be fantastic for us. Today we had unluck: they did not have anymore the menu, and my rib-eye-steak was abolished. Instead of Lloyd's service, we experienced the wonderful service of Vergenia Odtuhan. With the voucher, you were allowed to have one starter only, one entree only and one dessert only. As Bruno already saw that he was not interested in any dessert, we asked if we could have a second starter instead: The local restaurant management said NO! A word, which you would hear too often with NCL. We ate there since our voyage on NORWEGIAN JADE 2008 in the Italian alternative dining venue. You were here always in heaven or in hell. We were absolute fans of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Recently we had on our voyage on GRAND PRINCESS 2018 in Ensenada, Mexico an olive oil tasting and bought some bottles home - and after the MSC MERAVIGLIA 2017-voyage, we went to Modena, Italy for a vinegar tasting. But that olive oil and especially the balsamic vinegar only tasted terrible and came from hell! The salad with pear and brie-cheese should become my new fleetwide favorite salad and come from heaven. After the heavenly mussels in Le Bistro, I took the fish, because there were mussels part of the dish. That came again from hell: the fish was so dry and solid, and the mussels did not taste good at all. They offered me an alternative: since I had a smaller stomach, I had only one single chance, and that was gone for that night. The local restaurant management insisted me regardless to pay the balance exceeding 25.00 or 28.00 USD: 1.99 USD plus 20% Service Charge. When we asked for two Espressi Macchiati, we were asked what it would be, and we should go and see Starbucks. It would be the right moment to go. NORWEGIAN SUN 2012: How many Espressi Macchiati did Elena served us from the main galley which also prepared the food for La Cucina? What made the difference between good and outstanding crew members: Vergenia stabbed in the back of her supervisor: She only had excellent verbal communication skills but also body language skills. We understood: "Sir, please stay at your seats. Please start to enjoy your Tirami Su. I will take care of the Espressi Macchiati!". And she had a wonderful feeling for the need of her guests. A guest, who presented the voucher must be a valuable guest and should you annoy him because of 2.39 USD? She diverted without further ado Wilson to us, who was checking with the guests if everything was fine. That gave the chance to tell that the mussels in Le Bistro were outstanding compared to those I had tonight here. He only said: "Give me the bill and another chance when you love again to see us and have some space to try something different" and returned the voucher to me.
