Tag/Day 0E auf dem Weg/on the way to NORWEGIAN SUN in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Leichte Variationen zum Frühstück von gestern.

Wir nutzen die Zeit, um schnell in den Hafen zu fahren. STAR PRINCESS liegt in der Stadt. Aber keine Chance zum Fotografieren: die Kreuzfahrtschiffe haben keine eigenen Piers, so gibt es kein Reinkommen.



We used the time, to get quickly to the port. STAR PRINCESS was in town. But no chance to take pictures. The cruise ships did not have piers of their own, so there was no admission.

The cruise terminal “Quinquela Martín” was part of the Terminales Rio de la Plata, and based close to the Central Station.



Das Kreuzfahrtterminal “Quinquela Martín” ist Teil des Terminales Rio de la Plata liegt in der Nähe des Hauptbahnhofs.

Wir gucken uns auch mal ein Zimmer im Sheraton an: aber die Fenster lassen sich leider nicht öffnen, um aus dem Zimmer heraus zu fotografieren. Ich werde mir das nächste Mal zwei Bodyguards anheuern und wohl nachts mit ihnen zum Park gehen.



We also checked a room in the Sheraton: but you could not open the window to take pictures from the place. Next time I would hire two bodyguards and go with them to the park.

They delivered us to the Plaza de Mayo. Here we could take some pictures of the buildings of the square: like the President's Palace Casa Rosaldo or the Cathedral.



Wir lassen uns am Plaza de Mayo absetzen. Hier können wir Aufnahmen von den Gebäuden am Platz machen: wie der Präsidentenpalast Casa Rosaldo oder die Kathedrale.

Weiter geht es in die Konditorei London City. Der richtige Ort für uns. Hier finden schon die Vorbereitungen für die Heiligen Drei Könige statt. Die Hörnchen hier bezeichnet man als Medialunas (Halbmonde).



We went to the pastry store London City. The right place for us. Here we found the preparations for the Epiphany Day. You called the croissant here Medialunas (crescent).

We looked around in the city. They did not have only the mobile human money exchanger but also legal exchange offices.



Wir sehen uns in der Stadt um. Nicht nur die fliegenden Geldwechsler gibt es hier, sondern auch legale Wechselstuben.

Unser Ziel liegt an der Kreuzung Defensa/Chile in Buenos Aires oder in Oviedo. Dort haben sich während der Reise auf der VENTURA 2018 bloß keine Schlangen gebildet.



Our destination were at the intersection Defensa/Chile in Buenos Aires or in Oviedo, Spain. But there, during our voyage on VENTURA 2018, we had no queues.

Here, everyone wanted to meet Mafalda.

Es ist eine tolle Gemeinschaft, die hier Schlange steht.



It was a great community, who was queueing up here.

Since my camera with the selfie function was broken, we could only make it the classical way: taking pictures of each other.



Da ja meine Kamera mit der Selfie-Funktion defekt ist, können wir es nur klassisch machen: uns gegenseitig fotografieren.

Aber hier ist das eine verschworene Gemeinschaft von Mafalda-Fans: jeder bietet dem anderen seine Hilfe an, gemeinsame Bilder zu erstellen. Alle sind glücklich, weil wir hier abseits der Innenstadt sind und daher nur die absoluten Fans sich hier einfinden.



But here you had a sworn community of Mafalda-Fans: each was offering the help to the others to allow mutual pictures. Every one here around was happy because we were off the city center and only real fans were here around.

We went to BSAS4U/Daytours4U to visit Rommel and Edimar to say hello and to praise the selection of Marina. Until the next day in Buenos Aires, they did a great job: great organization, great itinerary, great vehicles and great team.



Wir sind dann zu BSAS4U/Daytours4U gegangen und haben Rommel und Edimar besucht, um mal guten Tag zu sagen und die Wahl von Marina sehr zu loben. Bis morgen in Buenos Aires haben sie eine sehr gute Arbeit geleistet: tolle Organisation, tolles Programm, tolle Fahrzeuge und tolles Team.

Da auf dem Tisch ein Kalender von MSC steht, muss ich direkt die Gelegenheit nutzen, ein Bild mit meinem MSC-Hut und dem Kalender und mir zu machen.



As there was a calendar of MSC on the table, I needed to use the opportunity to take a picture of the calendar and me.

The day before we passed more or less their office since Claro's office was in the same block.



Wir sind gestern quasi an ihrem Büro vorbeigelaufen, weil die Filiale von Claro im gleichen Block ist.

Mitten in der Fußgängerzone von Buenos Aires.

We needed to be back at 14:00 hrs at the hotel. So we needed to return soon.



Wir müssen bis 14:00 Uhr wieder zurück zum Hotel sein. So müssen wir bald zurück.

Da wir auch den anderen gesagt haben, dass sie abgefüttert zur Tour kommen sollen, gehen wir noch schnell in die Galerias Pacifico, um eine Kleinigkeit bei Green & Company zu essen.



Since we told the others to show up after having lunch for the tour, we went quickly to Galerias Pacifico to have a quick bite at Green & Company.

Today, Marina was also showing up on time.



Auch heute ist Marina wieder pünktlich da.

Wir müssen ca. eine Stunde fahren.



We needed to drive for an hour approximately.

We were passing today's Monument Tower... and before 1982 (Falkland War)... the English Clock Tower.



Vorbei am heutigen Denkmalsturm... und vor 1982 (Falkland Krieg)... der englische Uhrenturm.

Vorbei am Eisenbahnmuseum, das sich direkt am Bahnhof anschließt.



We were passing the railways museum which was attached to the station.

And we were also passing El Monumental Stadium, which was the home stadium of the River Plate Soccer Club. In December they had to move the finale of the Copa Libertadores (= like the Continental Champions League) from Buenos Aires into the Bernabéu-Stadium in Madrid, Spain.



Und noch vorbei am Stadion El Monumental, dem Heimatstadion des Vereins River Plate. Im Dezember noch wurde das Endspiel des Copa Libertadores (= vergleichbar UEFA Champions League) von Buenos Aires in das Bernabéu-Stadion nach Madrid verlegt.

Wir erreichen den Ort Tigre am Fluss Tigre. Da Ekkehard später über einen Lift am Kai Estación Fluvial nach oben gebracht und Rossita mitfahren darf, versucht sie auf der Fahrt nach oben, Eva Perón nachzuahmen. Später schaffen wir es auch hier ein gemeinsames Foto auch noch mit unserem Fahrer Roberto zu machen. Nach Ansicht von Marina: der beste Fahrer in Buenos Aires.



We reached the place Tigre at the River Tigre. Since Ekkehard was elevated later by a lift at the quay Estación Fluvial and Rossita was allowed to join, she tried to habit like Eva Perón when they were lifted up. Later we could make a mutual picture with our driver Roberto. Marina said that he should be the best driver in Buenos Aires.

On the boat tour, they offered complimentary coffee (certainly without milk!) and a piece of Alfajor. We knew Alfajor from Andalusia, Spain during our voyage before joining NORWEGIAN SPIRIT 2017. Or like Macarons made of shortcrust.



Auf der Bootsfahrt wird kostenlos Kaffee (natürlich ohne Milch!) und ein Stück Alfajor angeboten. Alfajor kennen wir vom letzten Aufenthalt in Andalusien vor der NORWEGIAN SPIRIT 2017. Oder wie Macarons aus Mürbeteig.

Wir machen hier eine Fahrt mit Sturla im Delta der Flüsse Tigre, Luján, Carapachay, Angostura, Espera und Sarmiento. Es ist interessant zu sehen, wie sich die Infrastruktur verändert, weil es hier keine Straßen gibt und alle Häuser nur über das Wasser erreichbar sind. So eine Fahrt haben wir schon mal am Halong Bay, in Bangkok, Hongkong und Venedig gemacht.



We had a tour with Sturla in the delta of the rivers Tigre, Luján, Carapachay, Angostura, Esperan, and Sarmiento. It was interesting to see, how the infrastructure changed because there were no more roads and you could access the houses only on waterways. It was like a tour, we made before in Halong Bay, Vietnam, Bangkok, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, or Venice, Italy.

After the boat trip, our way took us along the river Luján to the Tigre Art Museum. It was based in the former casino. Yesterday, they should touch the nose of a dog. Today, the women should feel with their hands the botty of a statue which would secure a tight booty. The ladies in our round trusted in that and tried it. In front of the museum, you could buy some sweets. It looked fascinating.



Nach der Bootstour führt uns unser Weg entlang des Flusses Luján zum Kunstmuseum Tigre. Es ist im ehemaligen Kasino untergebracht. Gestern sollte ja die Schnauze eines Hundes berührt werden. Heute sollen die Frauen das Gesäß der Statue mit ihren Händen berühren, die zu einem strammen Po führt. Die Frauen unserer Runde glauben mal daran und versuchen es. Vor dem Museum gibt es Süßigkeiten. Sieht interessant aus.

Eine schöne Terrasse führt vom Museumsgebäude zum Flussufer. Leider bietet sie keine Sitzmöglichkeiten. Schade. Das Wetter ist traumhaft.



A nice terrace took us from the museum building to the river bank. Unfortunately, there were no possibilities to sit. It was a pity. The weather was a dream.

So I went to browse the artworks in the museum. But the building, the location, and the terrace was more interesting to me but the artworks.



So gehe ich noch ein wenig mir die Kunstwerke im Museum ansehen. Aber das Gebäude, die Lage und die Terrasse finde ich persönlich doch interessanter als die Kunstwerke.

Wir halten kurz noch am Fruchthafen. Die meisten Stände bieten Kunsthandwerk an. Aber auch hier schließt alles um 18:00 Uhr. Nur der Obststand Boni hat auf und der hat Kirschen. Hier ist ja Hochsommer und so nutze ich die Chance und kaufe mir welche. Kultur ist auch hier ganz groß geschrieben.



We made a brief stop at the fruit port. Most of the stands offered handicraft. But here most stores closed at 18:00 hrs too. Only the fruit shop Boni was open and offered cherries. Here we had midsummer, and so I used the chance to buy some. They also kept the culture high.

After that, it was time to say goodbye to Marina.



Danach heißt es leider auch schon Abschied von Marina nehmen.

Der Abschied fällt sehr herzlich und persönlich aus.



Bidding farewell was very cordial and personal.

She delivered an excellent performance.



Sie hat eine sehr gute Arbeit geleistet.

Auch wenn sie später nicht mehr dabei sein kann: sie erklärt uns alles sehr genau, damit wir uns alleine zurück zu unserem Fahrer zurecht finden.



And even she could not stay with us: she explained to us very well, how we would find our ways ourselves back to our driver.

It was regrettable that Marina could not show us Montevideo in two days and it was also unfortunate, that you could book Marina only via BSAS4U/Daytours4U. But the story would be told in two days. As said before: Until the next day BSAS4U/Daytours4U delivered an excellent performance.



Schade, dass Marina uns nicht übermorgen Montevideo zeigen kann und sehr schade, dass Marina nur über BSAS4U/Daytours4U buchbar ist. Aber die Geschichte erzählen wir erst in zwei Tagen. Wie gesagt: bis morgen erbringt BSAS4U/Daytours4U eine sehr gute Leistung.

Wir sind wieder in La Boca. Um die Ecke auf der Plaza de la Usina spielen tolle Straßenmusiker. Leider lässt unsere Zeit es nicht zu, dass wir dort verweilen. Weil wir müssen dringend essen, bevor es dann noch weiter geht. Früher machen Restaurants für Einheimische nicht auf: wir sind im El Obrero und das Restaurant, das Essen, das Personal und das Ambiente sind voll nach meinem Geschmack. Lediglich sollte man unbedingt vorher schon auf Toilette gewesen sein und später auch erst wieder ein Bedürfnis haben. Die Toiletten sind mir zu authentisch.



We were back in La Boca. Around the corner, on Plaza de la Usina some fantastic street musicians were playing greatly. Unfortunately, our time did not permit that we stayed there. Because we needed quickly to eat before we had to head on. The restaurants for locals did not open earlier: we went to El Obrero, and the restaurant, the food, the staff, and the atmosphere met my taste totally. But you should see a toilet before and then later again. The toilets were too authentic here.

For the end of the evening, we went to the Piazzolla Tango Theater for attending a Tango Show. They offered me as a dining event, but I did not like to eat at places where you find only tourists. A local told me that the show was good. He as local would also go to watch the show, but he would never dine here. During the day, when all stores were open in the pedestrian zone, it should be quite safe. But we should not walk back to the hotel in the nighttime. As said before: the show was terrific. I was no friend of such kind of events, but it was a pleasure to attend. That night I was listening Libertango of Astor Piazzolla. This pieces of music and a few others became, more or less, hymns of the voyage. Another thrilling day in Buenos Aires came to an end. And Buenos Aires was a beautiful city which was worth to return. Sad, that this city was at the other end of the world.



Es geht zum Abschluss des Abends zum Piazzolla-Tango-Theater in eine Tango-Show. Es wurde mir mit Abendessen angeboten: aber ich hatte keine Lust an einem Ort zu essen, in dem nur andere Touristen sind. Ein Einheimischer hat mir gesagt: die Show ist gut. Dort geht er auch als Einheimischer hin, aber zum Essen käme er nicht hierher. Marina und Roberto haben ausdrücklich abgeraten, von hier zu Fuß zum Hotel zurück zu laufen, obwohl es nicht weit ist. Tagsüber, wenn alle Geschäfte in der Fußgängerzone offen sind, ist es sicher. Aber wir sollen nachts keinesfalls zum Hotel zurücklaufen. Die Show ist wie gesagt sehr gut. Ich bin eigentlich kein Freund solcher Veranstaltungen, aber das hat mir doch sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Heute Abend höre ich Libertango von Astor Piazzolla. Dieses Musikstück und einige weitere Tangostücke werden quasi zur Hymne dieser Reise. Ein weiterer schöner Tag in Buenos Aires geht zu Ende. Und Buenos Aires ist eine sehr schöne Stadt, die es Wert ist, wiederzukommen. Schade, dass sie am anderen Ende der Welt ist.
