Tag/Day 1.4 auf der/on NORWEGIAN JADE in Venedig/Venice, Italy

Vom Balkon genieße ich die Sonne und die Ausfahrt der SEABORN ODYSSEY.



On the balcony I enjoyed the sun and the set sail of SEABORN ODYSEEY.

Meanwhile we had the life drill. They had an innovation.



Zwischendurch war Seenotrettungsübung. Es gab jedoch eine Neuerung.

Ein Rettungsboot wurde auf die Höhe der Promenade heruntergelassen und nach der Seenotrettungsübung wurden hier Fragen durch Mitarbeiter beantwortet. Habe ich in dieser Form zum allerersten Mal erlebt. Eine gute Sache.



They released one life boat on the level of the promenade and after the life drill crew members stood by to answer the questions of the guests. I experienced the very first time. A great idea.

Und dann ging es für uns auch raus.



And for us it was time to set sail.

We all assembled on the balcony of Ingrid, Angela and Thomas to enjoy the set sail out of Venice. That was why we were on board. And days later we learned what we missed to see on the starboard balcony of Frances and Eddie... But what could be more beautiful but the passage of St. Mark's Square...



Wir hatten uns alle gemeinsam auf dem Balkon von Ingrid, Angela und Thomas versammelt, um die Ausfahrt aus Venedig zu genießen. Deswegen waren wir an Bord. Und Tage später erfahren wir, was wir auf dem Balkon von Frances und Eddie auf der Steuerbordseite verpasst haben... Aber was kann schöner sein als die Ausfahrt am Markusplatz vorbei...

Es geht nochmals kurz an der ROYAL CLIPPER vorbei.

We got a table in the Grand Pacific-Extension. The part I did not know so far. Unfortunately it did not work with a table of Aydin Sömnezocak. He came by and welcomed us in his cordial way. Frances and Eddie liked him very much. Pens were all "stolen" (It was not me!!!). That was why you need to have your own one tonight to fill out the comment card for the new menu. The new menu was a little disappointing for me: the daily available rib-eye-steak was not anymore on the menu. Anything else was again too healthy: you could notice: a lot of good changes. They had no more lobster but everything else got better. Small problems with the service because all menus were new and need to be identify properly. It tasted well everybody said.



Wir bekamen einen Tisch in der Grand Pacific-Erweiterung. Den Teil kannte ich bislang nicht. Leider hat es nicht geklappt einen Tisch mit Aydin Sönmezocak zu bekommen. Er kommt aber vorbei und begrüßt uns ganz herzlich. Frances und Eddie mögen ihn auch sehr. Kugelschreiber waren schon alle "geklaut" (Ich war es allerdings nicht!!!), deswegen musste man heute Abend selbst einen mithaben, um die Kommentarkarte für das neue Menü auszufüllen. Die neue Karte war etwas enttäuschend für mich: Das täglich-verfübare Rib-Eye-Steak stand nicht mehr auf der Karte. Ansonsten alles wieder viel zu gesund: man merkte, dass es sich positiv verändert hatte. Es gibt allerdings keinen Hummer mehr, aber dafür ist alles andere besser geworden. Einige kleine Problemchen gab es im Serviceablauf, weil natürlich die Menüs alle neu waren und erst mal korrekt identifiziert werden mussten. Geschmeckt hatte es allen.

Nilda dela Cruz und Cristina Tolentino sind die Kellner unseres ersten Abends. Sie haben uns angeboten, dass wir jeden Abend den Tisch haben könnten, aber wir müssen das dankend ablehnen: 1. weil wir ja auch in den Zuzahlrestaurants gerne essen und 2. weil wir soviele Freunde haben, die sonst beleidigt wären, wenn sie nicht auch mal aufsuchen würden. Nilda und Cristina warten auf Facebook-Anfragen von mir, nur das kleine Problem: genauso gut könnte ich nach Christine Müller und Marianne Schulz suchen können. Es kommen leider auch keine Ergebnisse mit gemeinsamen Freunden heraus. Deswegen: wenn sie die Zeilen lesen: sorry, aber in dem Fall müssen sie mir die Freundschaftsanfragen stellen.



Nilda dela Cruz and Christina Tolentino were the waiters of the first night. They offered us to keep the table every night for us but we had to say thanks but no: 1. because we love to go to alternative dining and 2. because we had so many friends who might be offended if we would not show up with them. Nilad and Cristina are wating for my friendship requests but there is a small problem: I could try to find Christine Miller or Mary Ann Smith. No results with mutual friends. Therefore: if you read those lines: sorry, but you need to send me a friendship request.

It went around the ship at the beginning of the cruise that I loved to take pictures of the crew so sometimes you had also few on the pictures whom we have not had any contact (before). But who was not our friend so far could become our friend.



Es hat sich dann schon am Anfang der Cruise herumgesprochen, dass ich gerne Bilder von der Crew mache, so kommen auch schon ein paar mit ins Bild, mit denen wir (noch nichts) zu tun haben. Aber wer noch nicht unser Freund ist, kann es ja noch werden.

Ich brauche Internet! Unproblematisch wie eh und jeh: ich kann mich selbst für den Internet-Dienst anmelden, ohne dass ich persönlich im Internet-Café vorsprechen muss. Ganz bequem von der Kabine aus. Ganz bequem mit meinen Geräten. Mein Vorname bereitet manchen Systemen ein Problem.



I need internet! Uncomplicated as before: I can just register myself for iternet without personal registration in the internet-café. Comfortably from your cabin. Comfortably with your own devices. Only my first name occured with some systems some problems.

But here a phone call was enough to solve the problem that the first part of my first name was sufficient.



Aber auch hier ein kurzer Anruf genügte, um auch das zu klären, dass der 1. Teil meines Vornamens reicht.

Und ohne persönlich vorsprechen zu müssen bekommen auch 30 Minuten (das ist neu! Bislang gab es nur 20 Minuten) als Platinum-Mitglied zusätzlich gut geschrieben, so dass bei Buchung am 1. Abend es insgesamt 50 Bonus-Minuten gab.



Without personal contact we could also get 30 minutes (that was new! So far it was 20 minutes) which you got free als Platinum-Member additionally as credit so I got totally 50 bonus minutes.

And it was much more easier to see how much credit you still had.



Und es ist auch einfacher zu sehen, wieviel Restguthaben man hat.

Nur das iPad kommt irgendwie nicht klar.



But somehow the iPad could it deal with it.

And it was hard to become connected without problems.



Und schafft selten problemlos die Verbindung aufzubauen.

Auch interessant: unsere Uhren werden alle auf Mokauer Zeit vorgestellt, sobald man im Bord-Mobilfunk-Netz eingeloggt ist...



Also interesting: our clocks were all moved to Mowcow Time upon connection to the onboard network...

At the end of the day the crew-selfies. Lloyd Cunanan we knew from our last voyage on NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1). He welcomed us in the first five minutes we went into the terminal. So sad that we had unluck and could not enjoy his service: he had that week stand-by service.



Am Ende des Tages die Crew-Selfies. Lloyd Cunanan kennen wir von der letzten Reise auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1). Er hat uns noch in den ersten fünf Minuten im Terminal begrüßt. So schade, dass wir dieses Mal Pech hatten und nicht wieder in Genuß seines Services kamen: Er hatte diese Woche Standby-Dienst.

Budiyanto Saputro kennen wir ebenfalls von unserer letzten Fahrt auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1). Einerseits von unserem Besuch im Moderno Rodizio und weil er die Gäste immer so enthusiastisch begrüßt - damals in Neapel.

Mahmut Atar, den wir schon seit sehr vielen Jahren kennen und er ist immer eine sichere Bank für tollen Service. Zuletzt haben wir ihn auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1) getroffen.

Und eine tolle Erinnerung an das Dream-Team aus dem Cagney's auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1): Manalyn Padilla. So schade, dass sie nicht mehr im Cagney's ist.

Also very sad that he was not in Le Bistro anymore like then on NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1): Daniel Mulia. One of the high-performer then and who always had an eye on that he would never walk back to the galley with empty hands and who worked like Musceteers: one for all and all for one.



Ebenfalls schade, dass er nicht mehr im Le Bistro ist, wie damals auf der NORWEGIAN JADE 2014 (1): Daniel Mulia. Einer der Leistungsträger damals, der immer darauf geachtet hatte, niemals mit leeren Händen zurück in die Galley zu laufen und wie die Musketiere arbeitete: einer für alle und alle für einen.

Und eine andere Freundin, mit der uns eine langjährige Freundschaft verbindet: Valeria Delgado. Ich freue mich wirklich über die Worte: "Welcome Back Mr. Tien. Nice to have you on board". Ich kann es auch nicht oft genug sagen: für mich wie ein Energy-Drink pur. Und dazu ein sehr charmanter.



And another friend of my whom we knew as friend for many years: Valeria Delgado. I was really happy to here her words: "Welcome Back Mr. Tien. Nice to have you on board". I cannot say it enough: for me it was like shot of Energy Drink. And a very charming one.
