Wenn man am Hauptbahnhof angekommen ist, sollte man diese Tafeln suchen, um sich zu orientieren. Es gibt drei Möglichkeiten weiter zum Cruise Terminal zu kommen, wenn man nicht den Schiffsbus nehmen will.



When you arrived at Central Station you should find these boards to get some orientation. There are three options to get to the Cruise Terminal if you have not booked the ship''s shuttle.

The first and cheapest option: by tram. All three lines over the Erasmusbridge will take you to Wilhelminaplein and so to the Cruise Terminal: 20, 23 and 25.



Die erste und die billigste Möglichkeit: Mit der Straßenbahn. Alle drei Linien über die Erasmusbrücke führen zum Wilhelminaplein und damit zum Cruise Terminal: 20, 23 und 25.

Hier sieht man mal aus der Sicht der Straßenbahn (Taxis gibt es auch von dieser Höhe aus...) den Weg, den man bis zum Bahnhofs-Container-Dorf überbrücken muss.

There are totally four platforms A to D.



Es gibt insgesamt vier Bahnsteige A bis D.

Für den Kreuzfahrer ist Bahnsteig A interessant:Linien 20 und 25 nach Opstelspoor führen von hier bis zur Wilhelminaplein. Die Situation dort wird am Tag 3 beschrieben.



For cruisers platform A is interesting: Routes 20 and 25 towards Opstelspoor will take you from here to Wilhelminaplein. I will explain later the situation there on Day 3.

From platform C there is route 23 to Limbrichthoek and it stops at Wilhelminaplein as well.



Vom Bahnsteig C fährt Linie 23 nach Limbrichthoek und hält ebenfalls an der Wilhelminaplein.

Fahrkarten gibt es hier am Ende von Bahnsteig A in diesem Häuschen.



You can buy tickets here at the end of platform A in this little building.

Or you buy the tickets here with the conductor in the tram who walk up and down to sell you a ticket.



Oder man kauft sie hier beim Schaffner in der Bahn, der immer vorbeikommt.

Wichtig: Die Tickets haben einen sog. RFID-Tag und so muss man beim Ticketkauf und jedem Aus- und Einsteigen das Ticket kurz über den RFID-Transponder führen.



Important: Tickets do have a so-called RFID-Tag and so you need with every purchase, every deboarding and boarding to hold your ticket in front of the RFID-transponder.

There are two types of tickets you can buy with the conductor: 1-hour-ticket for 2.50 EUR which are only valid in trams and buses. And for 3.50 EUR 2-hours-ticket which are valid additionally in the subway.



Es gibt zwei Arten von Tickets, die man beim Schaffner kaufen kann: 1-Stunde-Karte für 2,50 EUR, die nur in Straßenbahnen und Bussen gültig sind. Und für 3,50 EUR 2-Stunden-Karten, die auch noch zusätzlich in der U-Bahn gelten.

Nochmals: wichtig ist, dass beim Ein- und Aussteigen die Karte über den RFID-Transponder geführt wird, sonst kann man die Karte nicht z. B. für eine Rückfahrt innerhalb der einen Stunde nutzen, wenn man falsch sich ein- und ausgebucht hat. Wichtig: beim Fahrkartenkauf beim Schaffner darauf achten, ob er schon das Ticket über den Transponder gezogen hat.



Again: Important is that you hold your ticket towards the RFID-transponder every time you are boarding or deboarding otherwise you cannot use your ticket for a return journey within the hour if you did not book in- and out-gate properly. Important when you buy ticket with the conductor: See if the conductor hold your ticket towards the transponder.

That would be the way with stairs from the subway to the station building (half way from tram)



Das wäre der Weg mit Stufen von der U-Bahn bis zum Bahnhof (auf dem halben Weg von der Straßenbahn).

Es gäbe noch einen weiteren Zugang, der etwas versteckt liegt.



There was another access which was a little hidden.

It was angry that the escelators downwards were closed.



Ärgerlicherweise ist die Rolltreppe nach unten gesperrt.

Zumindest die nach oben funktionierte.



But the upwards one worked.

Here the problem with the in-gate and out-gate booking was solved in this unique way.



Hier hat sich das mit dem Ein- und Ausbuchen sowieso erledigt, da man sonst nicht anders reinkommt.

Dort stehen zwei Verkaufsautomaten.



There were two ticket machines.

Mal gucken, was sie alles leisten. Zunächst einmal den Bildschirm berühren.

Unten wechselt man die Sprache. Ich wechsele mal ins Englische.



In the bottom you can change the language. I change to English.

"Purchase disposable OV-chipkaart" are single tickets to dispose after use. Generally it runs this way: load money on your card and ride as long as you have money on your card.



"Purchase disposable OV-chipkaart" sind die Einzelfahrkarten zum Wegwerfen. Ansonsten läuft das Prinzip: Geld aufladen und solange fahren, bis dass kein Geld mehr drauf ist.

"RET 2 hours travelling 2010" ist diese 2-Stunden-Karte für die U-Bahn, Straßenbahn und Bus: 3,50 EUR

Now you choose the paying method: change or credit card would be the easiest.



Nun sucht man sich die Zahlungsmethode aus: Münzen oder Kreditkarte sind naheliegend.

Bei der Auswahl Münzen wird auf den entsprechenden Münzeinwurf verwiesen.

When you need a taxi it's like walking to the tram.



Zum Taxi läuft man praktisch wie zur Straßenbahn.

Derzeit befindet sich der Taxistand links hinter dieser Baustelle - gegenüber den Straßenbahnhaltestellen.



Currently the taxi stand left behind this construction site - adjustent to the tram stops.

Here right of this site. The ride to the cruise terminal is about 10.00 EUR. Do not wonder about the high amount once the meter is turned on. It was 7.50 EUR last night. But the meter moved the very first time around the Erasmusbridge-area.



Hier rechts neben der Baustelle. Die Fahrt zum Cruise Terminal kostet ca. 10,00 EUR. Nicht über den hohen Betrag erschrecken, wenn die Uhr eingeschaltet wird. Bei uns waren es 7,50 EUR gestern Nacht. Aber die Uhr tickte zum ersten Mal auf der Höhe der Erasmusbrücke.
