Die Show sollte um 19.45 Uhr beginnen. Wir waren gegen 19.10 Uhr unten in der Warteschlange für den Einlass. UND DAS IST DIE LETZTE CHANCE EINE TOILETTE NOCHMALS FÜR DIE NÄCHSTEN 2 1/2 STUNDEN AUFZUSUCHEN. Ob wir Premium-Plätze hatten oder nicht kann ich gar nicht sagen, weil wir bei NCL Wiesbaden telefonisch gebucht hatten und wir nur eine Bestätigung ohne Sitzplatzkategorie bekommen haben. Deswegen sollte man frühzeitig erscheinen. Um uns die Wartezeit zu verkürzen, machen die Nickelodeons wieder ihre Späßchen... Ich habe nur gar keine Ahnung, wer das ist...



The show should begin at 19.45 hrs. We were around 19.10 hrs in the queue for getting admission. AND THIS WAS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SEE A TOILET FOR THE NEXT 2 1/2 HOURS. No idea if we had premium-seats or no as we booked by phone with NCL Wiesbaden and just received a confirmation without seat category. So you better appear right on time. To shorten the waiting time the Nickelodeons made their jokes... But I had no idea who that was...

Now the hosts try to set up a group of 15 persons who were escorted at once to their table.



Nun versuchen die Hosts ein Gruppe mit 15 Personen zu bilden, die dann gemeinsam hereingelassen werden.

Man hat keinen Einfluss darauf, an welchen Tisch man platziert wird. Wichtig: Es wird vom Gast eine gewisse Teilnahme an der Show erwartet. Deswegen sollte man ggfls. sich einen Platz am Tisch suchen, der nicht einfach zugänglich ist, wenn man dazu nicht bereit ist.



You had no influence to the allocation of table. They expected that the guests were willing to participate. If you were not willing you better look for a seat which was very unaccessable.

The table was completely set.



Am Tisch ist schon alles fertig eingedeckt.

Es werden alle fünf Sinne bedient: Sehen, Hören, Riechen, Schmecken und Tasten. Letzterer nur für diejenigen, die eben aktiv mitwirken.



They served all five senses: To see, to hear, to smell, to taste and to touch. Last just for those who particitpated actively.

Valentyna welcomed us and told us that she knew us from a previous cruise. We were very happy about the words.



Valentyna begrüßt uns mit den Worten, dass sie uns von einer früheren Kreuzfahrt kennt. Darüber freuen wir uns wieder.

Es gibt für alle das gleiche 3-gängige-Menü. Keine Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Es wurde nachgefragt, ob jemand Allergien hat oder Vegetarier ist. Daher sollten Gäste mit spezieller Diät-Kost VORHER die Restaurantleitung ansprechen, damit sie sich entsprechend vorbereiten können.



You had the same 3-course-menu. No options. They asked if someone was allergic or vegetarian. So guests with special diet requirements should inform IN ADVANCE the restaurant management to make sure that they are well prepared.

I made hundereds of pictures but here you find only so many to make you curious...



In der Show habe ich mehrere Hundert Aufnahmen gemacht. Hier aber nur soviele, dass man neugierig wird...



Many cruisers think that everything on the ship is "all inclusive". Some will ask why they should pay a cover charge.



Viele denken ja, dass alles "all inclusive" ist. Daher fragen sich manche, warum soll ich etwas dazu zahlen.

Ich kann soviel sagen: wegen des Essens sicherlich nicht. Das hätte man genauso gut im Hauptrestaurant bekommen können.



I can only say: not because of the food. That you can also get also in the Main Dining Room.

Without English language skills you might enjoy the show for about 80%. With few skills in English you might enjoy for about 90% and if you speak English fluently you also will hear that they sang suitable to the food a song of lettuce (in German lettuce = Salat and salad = Salat).



Ohne Englisch-Kenntnisse kann man die Show immer noch zu 80% genießen. Mit geringen Englisch-Kenntnissen sicherlich zu 90% und wenn man einigermaßen gut Englisch kann, bekommt man hier mit, dass passend zum Salatgang über den Kopfsalat (in Englisch Lettuce) gesungen wird.

Das Servicepersonal versucht sich dem Programm anzupassen und möglichst diskret zu servieren, so dass man sich voll auf die Show konzentrieren kann.



The service crew tried to adopt to the programme and to serve most discreetly so you could fully concentrate to the show.

It's more for the fine senses: nothing for fans of Sigfried and Roy to see white tigers.



Es ist etwas für die feine Sinne: nichts für Fans von Siegfried und Roy, die weiße Tiger sehen wollen.

Wie gesagt: das Publikum wird eingebunden. Wer so etwas nicht mag, sollte diese Show nicht besuchen!!!



As said before: the audience will be integrated in to the show. Who dislike this should not see the show!!!

He was there to make Friends of Dorothy comfortable in the show.



Damit wir Friends of Dorothy auch uns wohlfühlen, gab es ihn...

Ein magischer Moment für die Augen, der aber live noch viel viel schöner ist.

Da kommen manche in Schwitzen... wir auch... Am Nachbartisch gab es einen kleinen Ehekrach, weil die Ehefrau ihn wohl wollte und es am Tisch äußerte und die Begeisterung des Ehemanns sich in Grenzen hielt...



Some get sweating... like us... the next table there was some couple trouble because the wife wanted to have him and said it loud at the table which was not very welcome by her husband...

We did not know the regulation if NCL took over all gratuities and paid them or if the crew had to work for nothing today



Wir kannten die Regelung nicht, ob heute NCL alle Trinkgelder übernimmt und praktisch zahlt oder ob heute das Servicepersonal für umsonst arbeiten musste.

Da sie uns bedient haben, für uns getanzt und gesungen haben, haben wir 20 USD Trinkgeld hinterlassen. Sie haben es sich verdient. Und nochmals: versucht Karten zu kriegen: Das Geld ist sehr gut angelegt. Es macht Spaß.



As they served us, danced and sang for us we left 20 USD for tips. They really deserved it. And again: try to get tickets. It's really a good investment. You will have fun.

In our cabin we worked on some secrets. A hinge made us curious.



In der Kabine lösen wir weitere Geheimnisse. Eine Scharnier macht uns neugierig.

Finally we had our towel animal.



Endlich gibt es ein Handtuchtier.

Noch nie zuvor gesehen: die Magnete im Vorhang, damit es nachts dicht schließt.



Never seen before: the magnets in the curtain to make the cabin real dark.

Since we had no display in the room we finally know the name of our cabin steward.



Nun wissen wir endlich wie unser Steward heißt, da es sonst keine Schilder mehr in der Kabine gibt.

Nur bislang haben wir immer noch nicht herausbekommen, wie wir diese Lampe am Waschbecken einschalten.



So far we could not find out how to turn on the light over the sink.

Around 22.45 hrs we were in bed. But we could not sleep because the headset of the phone was illuminated very bright. So we put some towels on the phone. Although we displayed "Please do not disturb" somebody knocked at the door around 23.00 hrs. It was a crew member who wanted to know if the phone was reset. After I calmed down I guess he was the only one on the whole ship who heared from me some appropiate comments.



Gegen 22.45 Uhr liegen wir im Bett. Aber wir können nicht schlafen, weil das Telefon hell leuchtet. So legen wir ein paar Handtücher darauf. Trotz "Please do not dirturb" (Bitte nicht stören) klopft es gegen 23.00 Uhr. Ein Mitarbeiter steht vor der Tür und möchte von uns wissen, ob unser Telefon zurückgesetzt wurde. Er war wohl der einzige Mitarbeiter an Bord, der ein paar passende Worte von mir zu hören bekam, nach dem ich mich wieder gefasst habe.
