Da ja unser Budget für die Tage in England ja durch die Vulkanasche sich in Luft aufgelöst (siehe ARTEMIS-Reise) hatten, wollten wir ein Hotel bei dem ich wieder meine Punkte einlösen konnte. Marriott gab dieses als nächstes Hotel zu Brighton an: Lingfield Park - Marriott Hotel und Country Club. Es war aber weitaus näher an Gatwick, was es für Pre- und Post-Cruise-Aufenthalte attraktiv macht. Man kann also in Gatwick landen, übernachten und am nächsten Tag weiter zum Schiff und unterwegs noch schönes sehen. Oder wenn man vom Schiff kommt und am nächsten Tag ab Gatwick abfliegt.
As our budget for the few days in England ended up in smoke due to the vulcano ash (see ARTEMIS-Voyage), we wanted to use a hotel where we could redeem my points. Marriott named this hotel as next to Brighton: Lingfield Park - Marriott Hotel and Country Club. It was in reality much more closer to Gatwick which made it very attractive for a pre- or post-cruise-stay. You can land in Gatwick, stay overnight and doing English countryside on the way to your ship. Or when you return from your ship and have your flight the next day out of Gatwick.They did it perfectly: My birthday to make it easier for me to remember my room number.
Die haben es perfekt gemacht: Mein Geburtstag, damit ich mir einfacher die Zimmernummer merken kann.Sehr aufmerksamer Service. Nach zehn Minuten kam ein Anruf von der Rezeption, ob alles im Zimmer in Ordnung sei.

The Lobby-Bar is open round the clock as there was no mini-bar available in the room.
Die Lobby-Bar ist rund um die Uhr geöffnet, da es keine Mini-Bar im Zimmer gibt.Da ist also die Rennbahn.

Ein kleines warmes Buffet.Aber dafür gab es ja ihn, der jeden Wunsch mit einem Lächeln erfüllte.

It was very kind that they did not charge us the full breakfast buffet price as we did not eat so much.
Was sehr nett war: sie haben uns nicht den vollen Büffetpreis berechnet, weil wir nicht so zugeschlagen haben.Allerdings habe ich geärgert, dass ich sofort zum Büffet gestürzt bin: es gab so viele tolle à-la-carte Gerichte, die mich gereizt hätten, aber das sehe ich erst, als ich fertig mit meinem Frühstück bin. In vielen Hotels wird nämlich einfach etwas vom Büffet auf einen Teller geknallt und so entsteht ein à-la-carte-Gericht für viel Geld... Hier nicht! Wenn wir über Gatwick an- und abreisen, kommen wir hierher gerne wieder.
But I was upset with myself that I ran to the buffet as there were so many great à-la-carte-dishes which I would like to have as well. But I saw it after I was finished with my breakfast. In many hotels they just take few items from the buffet on a plate and so they create a new à-la-carte-dish for a lot of money... But not here! When we travel via Gatwick we would like to return to this place.
