Tag/Day 10.1 auf der/on NORWEGIAN JADE in Neapel/Naples, Italy

Im Dunkeln nähern wir uns Neapel. Und wieder legen wir direkt mitten in der Stadt an.



While it was still dark we approached towards Naples. And again we just berth in the heart of the city.

And I created again my sandwich variation of my own... and as we were in Italy of course with Frittata.



Und ich kreiere meine eigene Sandwichvariationen.... und da wir in Italien sind natürlich mit Frittata.

Da es mir wieder gut geht, trinke ich keinen heißen Ingwer-Minz-Tee mehr, sondern trinke ihn jetzt als Eistee.



As I felt much more better I did not drink anymore hot ginger-mint-tea but now drink again as iced tea.

17.30 Uhr müssen wir zurück sein. Wenn nicht ausgerechnet heute letzte Nacht wäre und wir das Gepäck für die Ausschiffung fertig machen müssten, wäre Neapel - Rom mit dem Hochgeschwindigkeitszug ein Katzensprung und man könnte über Nacht in Neapel bleiben.



17.30 hrs we need to be back. If there would not be the last night onboard and we need to arrange everything for debarkation: Naples would be perfect to spend overnight and  to travel to Rome by high speed train within a jump.

You cannot dock more central.

This was somehow irritating to me and I went back to ask Shenny. She said that this was from the last tour and took off the sign.



Das hatte mich etwas irritiert und ich gehe zurück und frage Shenny. Sie sagt allerdings, dass das wohl vom letzten Mal sei und entfernt das Schild.

Wieder geht es die große Showtreppe runter.



Again we had to walk down the large stage steps.

When you arrived downhills you can book tours spontaneously.



Unten kann man wohl auch noch spontan Touren buchen.

Und die Taxitarife wurden auch als Orientierung ausgehangen.



And you can check easily the taxi fares as orientation.

In front of the terminal Michele was waiting for us. We booked him through Roberto von Amalfi Coast Destination. We went with him along the Amalfi-Coast in 2011 and we have his great service in good memories (see NORWEGIAN JADE-Blog). Roberto put his shirt on him. Unfortunately Michele only speaks English. Michele later explained that they would have access to German speaking guides but not off-season.



Vor dem Terminal wartet Michele. Wir hatten ihn über Roberto von Amalfi Coast Destination bestellt. Mit ihm waren wir 2011 an der Amalfi-Küste unterwegs und hatten seinen Service in guter Erinnerung (siehe NORWEGIAN JADE-Blog). Er legt für Michele die Hand ins Feuer. Leider kann Michele nur Englisch. Michele erklärt uns hinterher, dass es auch deutschprachige Führer gäbe, auf die sie Zugriff hätten, aber nicht so außerhalb der Saison.

Um 09.00 Uhr geht die nächste Fähre. Übrigens Capri wird in den Wintermonaten nicht als Ausflugsziel von NCL angeboten, weil sie wohl auch mal Probleme hatten, die Gäste wieder zurückzubekommen.



09.00 hrs was the next sailing. By the way NCL does not offer any excursions to Capri during the winter months as they had problems to get back their guests.

Michele führt mich zum Ticketschalter: 09.30 Uhr??? Ich dachte 09.00 Uhr.

The onward journey was 19.10 EUR and the return journey 17.60 EUR (2014)? The was a port embarkation tax for Capri they collect with the tickets.



Hin kostet es 19,10 EUR und zurück 17,60 EUR (2014)? Es gibt wohl eine Hafenanlegesteuer, die über das Ticket erhoben wird, wenn man nach Capri will.

Weil wir nicht um 09.00 Uhr fahren, sondern erst um 09.30 Uhr, haben wir Zeit in einem zugigen Café noch Kaffee zu trinken.



Because we did not sail at 09.00 hrs but 09.30 hrs we had time to have a cup of coffee in a drafty coffee shop.

Mit der Schnellfähre geht es dann nach Capri.



We took a high-speed-ferry to Capri.

On the ferry one tour-guide was offering her tours spontaneously.



Auf der Fähre läuft eine Fremdenführerin herum, die wohl spontan Touren anbietet.

Die Fenster sind nicht geputzt. Ich komme nicht raus. Sch... Fähre. Ich ärgere mich, dass ich nicht fotografieren kann.



The windows were not clean. I could not get out. Sh... Ferry. I was upset because I could not take any pictures.

After 45 minutes we arrived on Capri.



Nach 45 Minuten sind wir in Capri.









Und hier ist der Ärger vorprogrammiert, als ich entdecke, dass die 09.00 Uhr Fähre bereits angekommen ist, nur 12,70 EUR gekostet hätte und vor allem, weil sie ein offenes Deck hat, aus dem ich hätte fotografieren können. Sie ist übrigens unsere "Lebensversicherung": Falls die See schlimm werden sollte: sie fährt immer! Und vom Fahrplan her passt es natürlich nicht, dass wir zurück mit der langsamen Fähre fahren, zumal wir ja schon die Tickets für die Rückfahrt haben. Obwohl ich noch keinen Schritt aus dem Hafen rausgesetzt habe: Capri gefällt mir nicht und mein Tag ist gelaufen und Roberto kündige ich im Gedanken vorsorglich meine Freundschaft. Ich beruhige mich erst, als Michele mir für den Rückfahrt verspricht, dafür zu sorgen, dass ich Bilder von draußen machen darf.



Anger was bound to occur when I discovered that the 09.00 hrs-ferry already arrived and one ticket was only 12.70 EUR and especially it had an open deck which would allow me to take pictures. By the way: she would be our "life insurance" in case the sea becomes more rough: she always sail! But the scheudule did not allow us to return on her and as we already have our return tickets. Although I had not set any step out of the port of Capri: I did not like Capri anymore and my day was over and in my mind I quit my friendship with Roberto. I calmed down when Michele promised for the return voyage to find a way that I can take pictures from outside.

Where am I? It was like Gulliver in Liliput but 1960 when they set the movie "It started in Naples". The busses and the mini-busses... Somehow all made for Liliputian... and we used the time before we started to see the toilets. They were clean but the techniques must be from 1960. When did I have last time a chance to pull a string from a toilet water tank at the top. A voyage to the history.



Wo bin ich hier? Ich komme mir vor wie Gulliver in Liliput im Jahre 1960 als "Es begann in Neapel" gedreht wurde. Die Busse und Minibusse... Sind irgendwie für Liliputaner gemacht worden... und die Zeit bis zur Abfahrt nutzen wir, um alle nochmals die Toilette aufzuschen. Die war zwar sauber, aber die Technik stammt noch aus 1960. Schon lange habe ich nicht mehr an einer Schnur gezogen, bei dem der Wasserkasten oben ist. Eine Reise in die Vergangenheit.

Der nächste Ärger, weil eben alles so klein dimensioniert war. Wir waren ja nun von Deniz aus Izmir gewöhnt, dass wir immer sehr große Fahrzeuge bekommen haben, die uns erlaubten, uns auch auszubreiten, mal auch einen Rucksack abzustellen. Es war ja schon in Island furchtbar, weil dort alle Plätze besetzt waren. Hier waren alle Plätze besetzt und es war eng. Aber nach wenigen Minuten war klar, warum alles für Liliputaner gebaut wurde: die Straßen und vor allem die Kurven sind so eng: es würden keine zwei normalen Fahrzeuge aneinander vorbeipassen. Und daher war ich doch heilfroh, dass unser Fahrzeug nicht ein Zentimeter breiter war.



The next anger came because everything was so small dimensioned. Now we were very spoiled by Deniz' organisation to have always larger vehicles which allows us to spread out and to have a bag on a seat. It was already bad on Iceland when all seats were taken and it was still narrow. But after few minutes it was clear why everything was designed for Liliputians: all roads and curves were so narrow that no regular dimensioned vehicles could pass. So I was really glad that our vehicle was not one inch larger.

First we went to Anacapri. And here to Via Capomonte. Most of the shops were closed. One of the open shops was the one of Limoncello di Capri. Here we need to test most of their products. Especially they had my preferred soft limoncello candies. Bruno like more the hard ones and said they are good for therapeutical purposes. As we cannot find any mutal agreements if we should buy some limoncello with cream or without we bought both. I was really surprised to see that everone carried a bag out of the store.



Zunächst einmal geht es nach Anacapri. Und da geht es in die Via Capomonte. Fast alle Geschäfte hatten geschlossen. Einer von den geöffeneten Geschäften war von Limoncello di Capri. Hier müssen wir mal fast alle Produkte ausprobieren. Vor allem haben sie meine bevorzugten weichen Limoncello Bonbons. Bruno mag lieber die harten und meint, dass sie auch therapeutisch gut wären. Da wir uns auch nicht einigen können, ob wir nun Limoncello lieber mit oder ohne Sahne mögen, kaufen wir kurzerhand beides. Zu meinem Erstaunen trug jeder eine Tüte aus dem Laden raus.

Weiter laufen wir zur Villa San Michele.

Leider hatten wir keine Zeit für die Kunst und den Garten.



Unfortunately we had no time for art and the garden.

It was because of this view.

You could easily walk back towards the port by descending the stairs.



Man könnte einfach die Treppe runterlaufen, um wieder in den Hafen zu kommen.







A Swedish Consulate here on Capri. But that was due to Axel Munthe who was from Sweden and patron of the Villa San Michele.



Ein schwedisches Konsulat auf Capri. Aber das hängt mit Axel Munthe zusammen, der aus Schweden stammt und Mäzen der Villa San Michele ist.

Weiter geht es durch Anacapri, um sich das Mosaik in der St. Michael Kirche anzusehen. Nur leider ist sie geschlossen. Unterwegs gucken wir uns ein wenig die Schaufenster und Häuser an.



We continued our walk though Anacapri to see the mosaic in the St Micheal Church. Unfortunately it was closed. On the way we looked for some shop windows and some houses.

A nice greeting to a fellow-worker... soon she will make acquaintance of NORWEGIAN JADE...

Am Busbahnhof von Anacapri werden wir wieder eingesammelt und es geht weiter in den Ort Capri.



At the bus terminal of Anacapri we were picked up and we headed to Capri Town.



Von dort hinten sind wir also gekommen.

Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass auch Capri ein Handtaschenparadies für Frauen ist, dann wäre ich doch nach Pompeij gefahren... Da wird es ja wohl hoffentlich kein Geschäft für Damenhandtaschen geben.



If I would knew before that Capri is a Paradise for women's purses I would picked Pompeij to go... I hope that there is no shop for women's purses.





The rope was not in operation due to maintenance. Also the chairlift was out of service.



Die Seilbahn war wegen Instandhaltung außer Betrieb. Auch der Sessellift funktionierte nicht.

Aber man merkte schon, dass es ruhig war und viele Geschäfte zu hatten.



But you could feel that it was quite calm and many stores were closed.

Bruno, Sigi and Michele went to the Terraces of the Gardens of Augustus on Via Krupp.

Hans, Erika und ich saßen so lange in der Al Piccolo Bar. Und jetzt weiss ich auch, dass Capri ein echt teures Pflaster ist.

So Sigi and Bruno had to eat the sandwiches we left... a sandwich of their own would ruin the foreign trade deificit of the Federal Republic of Germany. But now I know: when I am later back again on the main the celebrities will sit here to have their coffee just right here.



So müssen Sigi und Bruno unsere restlichen Brote essen... ein eigenes Brot für die beiden hätte zum Außenhandelsdefizit der Bundesrepublik Deutschland geführt. Aber ich weiss, dass wenn ich später weg auf dem Festland bin, die Berühmtheiten hier alle hierher kommen, um hier ihren Kafee zu trinken.
