Seetag/Day at Sea 5.1 auf der/on NORWEGIAN JADE

Scroll down for English explanations - alternates with German explanations.

Seetag - Ausschlafen...

Day at sea - Sleeping late... to share fresh pictures with my Facebook-friends it meant to wake up at 04.00 hrs instead of 02.30 hrs like the last days. There was no ship's encounter. I hoped so. Although many times I have been here it was always nice at Deck 12 in middle of the night.

I grabbed a small breakfast at 05.30 hrs. We wanted to attend the brunch.

That was the early riser breakfast.

For the start to a morning just sufficient and even you got whole-grain-bread... If you read German reviews and they claimed that there was no German bread: they must stucked somewhere before they found it. But it is always good to have reasons to claim and to ask for partial refund according to German regulations.

But it was not so nice to have breakfast there as they were still cleaning around.

Inside everything was well prepared for the run later the day.

Because it was day at sea Garden Café opens at 07.00 hrs.

Even they had here our fruit plate but just without cottage cheese.

And it was not true that there were no kiwis on board.

It would be hard to believe if someone would claim that he died on hunger.

I need to have dictionary to avoid going online. But all books were locked away.

After the 1st breakfast I slept a little more and enjoyed the sunrise.

Later we remembered that they prepared for us our fruit and cold cut plate. That would be a shame. So we decided to eat this. There was enough time until brunch. The first time I broke my tradition because NCL deserved it. I took an NCL-T-Shirt for the day. And the funny thing: while I was on other ships with my NCL-T-Shirt I was asked for the way to the toilet. Here on NCL none bothered me.

Is not that fantastic: even there was no table for 2 available I got a table for 4 just for us... I was not forced to share a table to solve the maître's problem.

It was nice that my plate was changing everyday. As soon as we got registered by the restaurant hostess everything went automatically... Someone ran and got us the plate without the need to say anything.

We went to the officers' talk. Captain Kim said good morning but forbid to ask any questions to him after he knew my questions from January 2011. I did it and tortured his collegues. I think he still resent my thought that he might be the Captain who took during a heavy storm NORWEGIAN JADE from Barcelona to Monte Carlo while our ship OCEAN PRINCESS cancelled the call. Or do we need to have a word with the coffee shop...

1st question: What happens with the 12 USD Service Charge? Do those crew members behind the curtains and who are invisible for us also get some money out of the service charge - without them nothing would work. Captain Kim said that he liked the question.

2nd question: When will NCL provide a shoreside power supply solution? If you are interested in the answers: go NCL, attend the talk and ask yourself...

  1. Hallo,
