Noch ganz schnell das Fazit und das geht dieses Mal schnell.

And now quickly the conclusion and it goes quickly this time.

Meine größten Befürchtungen waren, dass das Schiff in einem schlechten Zustand sei, weil es kurz vor einem Trockendockaufenthalt steht. Aber wie bereits beschrieben. So gut wie nichts.

My biggest concerns were that the ship might be in a bad condition because she is just before a dry-dock-stay. But as already described. More or less nothing.

Meine größten Befürchtungen waren, dass nach Holland America unsere Eltern uns enterben würden, nach dem sie mit uns auf NCL waren. Aber dank der tollen Crew angefangen vom Kapitän Kim Karlsson bis zun den einfachen Seeleuten, die die Tender bedient haben: Die haben mit ihrer Herzlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit usw. alles rausgeholt, dass wir bereits auch für unsere Eltern die NORWEGIAN SPIRIT im Januar 2013 gebucht haben. Schon ailleine, weil Hoteldirektor Armando sich so eine Mühe gegeben hat, Madeira unseren Eltern schmackhaft zu machen.

My biggest concerns were that after Holland America our parents would cut us off their will after they went with us on NCL. But due to a very great crew from the top Captain Kim Karlsson to the simple sailors who operated the tender boats: They did their best with their cordiality, attention etc. to compensate the differences so that we finally booked our parents again on NORWEGIAN SPIRIT in January 2013. Even just because of Hotel Director Armando who spent a lot of effort to explain the beauty of Madeira.

Ganz offen: Wir haben weniger bei NCL bezahlt, als das wir bei HAL oder Princess bezahlt haben. NCL ist bestimmt nicht die beste Cruise Line, die wir kennen, ABER es ist nach wie vor die Cruise Line mit dem allerbesten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und deswegen buchen wir sie immer wieder.

Frankly spoken: we pay less with NCL than we would pay with HAL or Princess. NCL is definately not the very best cruise line know. BUT it is still the cruise with the very best price-value-ratio and that is why book them again and again.

Wir wechseln, wenn wir die passende Route bei NCL nicht finden. Ich hoffe jedoch stark, dass mit Inbetriebnahme der NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY und NORWEGIAN GETAWAY auch wieder Kapazitäten für Entdeckerfahrten frei werden und wir Fahrten, die wir derzeit mit anderen machen auch mit NCL machen können.

We change when we could not find the itinerary with NCL. We truly hope that with inauguration of NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY and NORWEGIAN GETAWAY they will have again capacities for discovery cruises and we can do cruises which we do with others with NCL.

Was das Produkt NCL betrifft ist es ein Auf und Ab. Verschlechterungen wie der Speisekarte im Cagney's stehen Verbesserungen wie bei der täglichen Auswahl und dem unterschiedlichen Angebot im Alizar und im Grand Pacific gegenüber. Da muss aber jeder einzelne für sich selbst feststellen, ob es vorteilhaft für einen ist oder nicht. Ich persönlich finde es sehr schade, dass die Speisekarte vom Cagney's sehr stark abgespeckt wurde: einfach weil der Unterschied zu den anderen Steakhäusern auf Schiffen damit wegfällt. Alaska King Crabs hatte bloß NCL. Auch das neue Sushi-Angebot liegt mir nicht. Andere werden sich darüber sehr gefreut haben. Aber wie gesagt, das ist eine Frage der persönlichen Präferenz.

Regarding the product NCL it is like always an up and down. Impairments like with the menu in Cagney's face improvements like the the every day's selection and the different offer in Alizar and Grand Pacific. So each of us need to find out for ourselves if this is advantaged. Personally I deeply regret the changes on Cagney's menu because there is not so much different between NCL and other cruise lines' steakhouse. Alaska King Crabs was only available with NCL. The new sushi-offer was not my favorite either. Other might be happy with the new sushi-pricing policy. As said before it's a question of personal preferences.

Ich war aber dieses Mal sehr traurig, weil ich nicht mehr essen konnte. Wir haben so viele Freunde unter der Crew, dass es schade war, dass wir nicht bei allen essen konnten, um deren Service zu genießen.

I was very sad this time because I could not eat more. We had so many crew-friends that we deeply regret that we could not eat with all of them and to experience their service.

Lassen wir mal die Senior-Offiziere beiseite, für die eine solche Leistung selbstverständlich ist.

Ernesto - und finde es schade, dass er an das Aufhören denkt. Sein Service ist vorbildlich - alte Schule. Es tut so gut.



Ernesto - und I deeply regret that he thinks of retirement. His service is truly exemplary - old school. So good to experience.

Monica - egal ob wir im Blue Lagoon Café sitzen oder im teuersten Zuzahlrestaurant: wir sind die guten Freunde - nicht nur einfach Gäste, die einfach ihren Service erleben und genießen dürfen. Sie ist so gut, dass sie eigentlich schon längst Maîtrelaufbahn eingeschlagen haben müsste. In vielem erinnert sie mich an Luiza. Und ganz ehrlich: ich hoffe, dass sie und ihr Mann Philmore eines Tages in einem EInschiffungs- oder Hafen mit Übernachtung (Istanbul, King's Wharf oder St. Petersburg) ein Restaurant aufmachen: wir und sicherlich viele andere NCL-Gäste wären dort Stammgäste vor und nach und während ihrer Reisen.



Monica - no matter we are in Blue Lagoon Café or in the most expensive alternative dining venue: we are treated like her good friends - not just simple guests which are allowed to experience her service and may enjoy it. She is so good that I am wondering that she did not started the carreer for a Maître yet. Many things she did reminded me to Luiza. And honestly I truly hope that she and her husband Philmore will open one day in an embarkation port or overnight port (Istanbut, King's Wharf or St. Petersburg) a restaurant: we and many other NCL-guests would be patrons there before, after or during a cruise.

und die vielen vielen anderen, die ich jetzt nicht nochmals alle namentlich nenne, aber auf den Fotos auftauchen, wie Adina, Carol, Yohannes, Lilibeth; Michelle, Ronnie usw. usw. usw. ES TUT MIR ECHT LEID. Es werden von mal zu mal mehr und ich selbst wenn wir bei Null wieder auf der NORWEGIAN SUN anfangen: die Anzahl wird nicht abnehmen - da sind wir uns jetzt schon sicher.

and the many many other which cannot mention by their names but who all disappear on the pictures like Adina, Carol, Yohannes, Lilibeth, Michelle, Ronnie etc. etc. etc. I AM SO SORRY. The number we knew by name grows and grows and even I maybe have to reset and start again on NORWEGIAN SUN: I am sure the number will not get lower.

Ich muss aber noch ausdrücklich Valentina noch nennen, die auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC war. Das ist echte Kundenbindung. Es tut nicht weh auf Facebook befreundet zu sein, aber es tut sehr gut, wenn mal gelegentlich die Frage einfach kommt, wie es einem geht und wann man wieder auf einem NCL-Schiff begrüßt werden darf. Das tut gut und das sorgt dafür, dass ich NCL liebe.



I need to mention Valentina who was onboard of NORWEGIAN EPIC. That is true customer's loyalty. It does not hurt to be friend on Facebook but it is a great feeling if you get from time to time the question how you are and when they will have the occassion to welcome you again on an NCL-ship. This makes me happy and this makes sure that I love NCL.

Der Rest ist egal - solange es diese Crew gibt und solange es NCL ist.

All other things are not important - as long as there is this crew and as long as it is NCL.
