Seetag/Day at Sea 12.1 auf der/on NORWEGIAN JADE

Der letzte (See-)tag bricht an. Ich bekomme eine Nachricht, dass ich Mahmut umarmen soll... im Auftrag einer älteren Dame, die zu den gut unterrichten Kreisen aus cruisecritic.com zählt... Soll ich dem armen Kerl das Kreuz brechen??? Wenn du ihn umarmst, freut er sich darüber... Ob er sich darüber freut, wenn ich ihn umarme... ich weiss es nicht... Außerdem hatte ich geschrieben, dass ich umarmt werden wollte und nicht selbst umarmen wollte... Hinterher teilt er mich auch zur Arbeit ein, so wie seine Mitarbeiter... Erst sich zur Begrüßung umarmen lassen und dann den armen Leuten Arbeit geben... Wir sehen ihm beim Frühstück und zeigen ihm diese Nachricht, worüber er sich sehr freut. Es ist gut, dass er an Bord ist. Er ist jemand, der auch mal selbst mit anfasst und könnte in jedem Lehrbuch als Beispiel erscheinen, wie man aus einem Chaos eine Ordnung schafft.



The last day (on sea) started. I got a message that I should give Mahmut a hug... on behalf of an older lady who counted to the well-informed circles with cruisecritic.com... Should I break the back of the poor guy??? He might be happy if you hug him... But I doubt that he will appriciate my hugs... I really do not know... But the way I wrote that I want be hugged and not that I want to hug others... Later he will let me start working like he did with his crew... First he let them hugging him and then he let them work for him... We met him at the breakfast and showed him the message and he was happy to read. It is good that he is onboard. He is someone who also give someone his hand and might appear in all collegebooks to explain how to make order out of a chaos.

Finally we had one day ahead of debarkation one elevator with malfunction... Normally it went much more faster



Endlich haben wir am Tag vor der Ausschiffung einen defekten Fahrstuhl... Das ging sonst immer schneller.

Von den ganzen Süßigkeiten blieben bis heute nur diese noch, die wir aber sehr schnell loswerden. Irgendeiner ist immer netter als nett zu uns. Ich habe übrigens dieses Mal wirklich Probleme jemanden für die 1% zu nomieren... 99% sind ja immer klasse... Es gibt auch immer dann die Ausnahmen... Nur hier an Bord habe ich wirklich ein Problem, für die 1% Leute zu finden...



That was all which was left of the sweets we brought on board until today. But no problem to distribute them. Someone is always nicer than nice to us. I really had the problem to nominate someone for the 1%... 99% are always very nice and great... But you find also the exceptions... But here on the ship you really have a problem to find some crew members for the 1%.

Few examples for the 99%... Jinky... had maybe one single chance to read our names. She is restaurant hostess at Cagney's. We only passed her desk every night but never had dinner at Cagney's. Only in transit to the Star Bar and to sanitize our hands. Always with a friendly smile: "Good Evening Mr. X! How are you tonight???"



Beispiele für die 99%... Jinky... hatte vielleicht ein einziges Gelegenheit unseren Namen zu lesen. Sie ist Restuarant Hostess im Cagney's. Wir sind aber jeden Abend an ihr vorbeigangen, obwohl wir nie im Cagney's zu Abend gegessen hatten, sondern immer nur auf dem Weg zur Star Bar uns bei ihr die Hände desinfiziert haben. Immer mit einem freundlichen Lächeln: "Guten Abend Mr. X! Wie gehts es Ihnen heute Abend!".

Zu den 99% zählt mit Sicherheit auch Karabi - die nächste Concierge auf der NORWEGIAN JADE, weil diese Frage auch per E-Mail kam, wer Nachfolgerin von Monica sein wird.

At the reception desk it was quite busy because NCL does not distribute intermediate balance like other companies so you need to ask yourself. On NORWEGIAN JADE you cannot check your balance interactively on the screen of your TV-set in your cabin.



An der Rezeption ist der Teufel los. NCL gibt keine Zwischenabrechnungen, wie andere Gesellschaften, so dass man sich selbst um eine bemühen muss. Und interaktiv am Fernseher in der Kabine ist dieses auf der NORWEGIAN JADE nicht möglich.

Ich gebe bei Ekatarina mein Formular für die Einkaufsgarantie ab. Da sie im Moment leider nicht da ist, lege ich es ihr unter die Maus.

Finally we had few official complaints which we need to present to Hotel Director Les:

1. The reception refused to give us 1,000 cards for the nomination for NCL S.T.Y.L.E. stars.

Les, who read and commented each single card personally (so they are not for the shredder but attended by the Hotel Director personally!!! - So WRITE, WRITE, WRITE... - or like me BLOG, BLOG, BLOG.) refused to hand me over 1,000 cards either as he had to read them all and to comment. I write later to Miami and refer to the blog because nobody wanted to give me 1,000 cards and they could read here in the blog who made more than "normal" in my eyes... It is very sad to learn that he wants to retire to have more time with his family... how about me??? He could continue and spend more time with me instead... Anyhow my best wishes for his future!!! As guest I would love to have him back onboard...



Am Schluss der Reise hatten wir aber doch noch ein paar offizielle Beschwerden, die wir beim Hotel Director Les vortragen mussten:

1. Die Rezeption hat sich geweigert, uns 1.000 Karten für die Nominierung der NCL S.T.Y.L.E. Sterne zu geben.

Les, der hier jede einzelne Karte persönlich liest und kommentiert (also sie landen also nicht im Shredder, sondern werden vom Hotel Director persönlich gelesen!!! - Also SCHREIBEN, SCHREIBEN, SCHREIBEN... - oder so wie ich BLOGGEN, BLOGGEN und BLOGGEN.), wollte mir auch keine 1.000 Karten geben, die er hinterher alle lesen und kommentieren muss. Ich schreibe dann hinterher nach Miami und verweise auf den Blog, weil niemand mir an Bord 1.000 Karten geben wollte und sie selbst hier im Blog nachlesen können, wer mehr als "normal" mir aufgefallen ist. Es ist eine Schande, dass er in Ruhestand will, um mehr Zeit für seine Familie zu haben... und was ist mit mir??? Er könnte ja auch weitermachen und stattdessen mehr Zeit mit mir verbringen... Dennoch alles Gute!!! Als Gast würde ich mich natürlich freuen, wenn er an Bord bleiben würde...

2. Desweiteren hat NCL Miami zuletzt die Verantwortung für das Einlaufen meiner Holland-America-Tasche abgelehnt, weil ich keine offizielle Reklamation auf der NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 eingereicht habe. Hiermit reiche ich die offizielle Reklamation ein, dass meine Holland-America-Tasche nochmals eingelaufen ist und bekomme als Entschädigung endlich die NCL-Tasche... Wir haben ja für Oktober noch eine Celebrity- und eine Princess-Tasche, die wir noch waschen lassen können...



2. Recently Miami refused to take the responsibility for my shrinked Holland-America-bag because I did not make an official complaint on NORWEGIAN GEM 2009. So hereby I report this complaint that they shrinked my Holland-America-bag again and finally I got an NCL-bag... For October we have a Celebrity- and a Princess-bag which could let them laundry...

And then something very sad...



Und dann etwas sehr trauriges...

Wir treffen Ma Magdalena, die uns mit einer Herzlichkeit begrüßt, die wir nur von NCL her kennen.



We met Ma Magdalena who greeted us with a cordiality which we only know from NCL.

She knew us from NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 and we re-discovered her again on NORWEGIAN EPIC 2010.



Sie kannte uns von der NORWEGIAN GEM 2009 und wir haben sie dann auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC 2010 wiedererkannt.

Derzeit arbeitet sie im Pappa's Italian Kitchen und weil ich blöderweise in der falschen Richtung saß, hat sie mich nicht erkannt und ich sie nicht gesehen. Deswegen sind wir traurig, weil wir erst jetzt sie wiedergetroffen haben. Aber sie sagt, dass sie im Oktober 2011 wieder an Bord ist, worüber wir uns sehr freuen.



This time she was working at Pappa's Italian Kitchen and because I sat in the wrong direction she did not recognized me and I could not see her. We were so sad because we met her now and not before. But she said that she will be back in October 2011 and that made us happy again.

There was only reason why we discovered Ma Magdalena: I wanted to see if there was still lamb available in the Garden Café... But now they had ham.



Ma Magdalena haben wir übrigens auch nur aus dem Grund entdeckt, weil ich unbedingt wissen wollte, ob es immer noch Lamm im Garden Café gibt... Es gibt nun Schinken.

Was allerdings fehlt ist eine echte Bar. Der Getränkeverkauf findet zwischen den Auslagen statt.



What was missing is a true bar. The sales of beverages was between the displays.

Since Alexandria we like the dips... So we tried them: yummy... but the bread was not very absorbent...



Seit Alexandria stehen wir ja auf so Pasten... Also probieren wir diese: Lecker... aber das Brot ist nicht saugfähig genug...

Also bitte ich um Brot und dachte mir, dass ich etwas vom Tablett bekommen würde... Stattdessen rennt unser Hilfskellner sofort los und besorgt mir noch mehr Pitabrot. Für meinen Dank bekomme ich ein "My Pleasure - Es ist mir eine Freude"... So wie er das sagt, ist das wie ein Energy Drink pur... So wie er das sagt, wirkt ein "You're welcome - Bitte" wie ein fades Fachinger-Wasser...



So I asked for some bread and thought that I would get some from the tray... but our assistent waiter ran immediately to the galley and got me some more of the pita bread. For my thank I got a "My Pleasure"... The way he said it was like having an Energy Drink pure... The way he said it a simple "You're welcome" is like a weak still water for hospitals.

Sorry for beeing embarrassing but when I got the absorbent bread you can see the success.



Mir ist es äußerst peinlich, aber nach dem ich endlich aufsaugfähiges Brot bekomme, sieht man ja den Erfolg.

Wieder mein Süppchen.

Bruno hatte zwar keinen Fisch, aber das Hühnchen, das am Käse klebte...

und ich das Philly-Cheese-Steak-Sandwich, das ich schon damals auf der NORWEGIAN EPIC 2010 nicht aufgegessen habe. Damals weil die Nachricht kam, dass wir mit mehreren Stunden Verspätung in Southampton ankommen würden und heute weil auch mir zuviel Käse dranklebte...
