So richtig Lust auf Torshavn hatte ich irgendwie nicht. Deswegen die Hoffnung, dass das Wetter schlecht sein möge und ich an Bord bleiben könne. Aber auch schon der Anruf beim Touranbieter ergab: er würde für uns fahren, aber nicht die eigentliche Route. In den letzten Tagen wäre er wegen des Wetters gar nicht gefahren. Und unsere Tour wäre die erste Tour, die er wieder anbieten würde.
Somehow I was not in the mood to see Torshavn. So I hoped that the weather might be horrible and I could stay on board. But the call with the tour operator was successful: he would go for us but not the original itinerary. Due to weather, he did not go the last days so we would make the first tour he would offer. Das Wetter wurde immer besser und der Ausflug mit den niedrigsten Erwartungen zu den niedrigsten Kosten würde also stattfinden und ich würde mal wieder Reiseleiter für 24 Personen spielen, die ich größtenteils nur vom Internet her kenne...
The weather became better and better, and the tour with my lowest expectations at the lowest price would run, and I should play again tour leader for 24 persons whom I mostly know from the internet only...Oh well... we were working on... I got my slices of oranges, but I need to tell them that I did not want a large plate but only a few little pieces... But Bruno had unluck to... they said that there were no more berries onboard...
Na gut... wir arbeiten weiter... zwar bekomme ich die Orangenscheiben, aber ich muss mal mich genauer ausdrücken, dass ich keinen ganzen großen Teller will, sondern wirklich nur ein paar kleine Scheibchen... Aber auch Bruno hatte Pech... es gab angeblich keine Beeren an Bord...
Wir hatten zwar einen freundlichen Service, aber trotzdem etwas extrem langsam. Und irgendwie ist es mir nicht gelungen ein Omelette zu bestellen, bei dem der Schinken im Ei ist. Zum Glück waren wir bereits um 07.00 Uhr schon zum Frühstück, sonst hätten wir es kaum pünktlich zum Ausflug geschafft.

Ab in den Shuttle. Der Fahrer meint, dass er neben der Touristen-Information halten würde. Es sein nicht mehr weit zum Busbahnhof."Leider" hat er nur vergessen zu erwähnen, dass der Busbahnhof direkt neben der Touristen-Information war. Ich habe dann eine Gruppenkarte im Fährterminal gelöst, da die Überlandbuslinien von der Fährgesellschaft betrieben werden. Als der erste dann meinte, wie es mit Seniorentarif aussieht, habe ich kurzerhand angeboten, dass jeder einzeln seine Karte lösen kann. Zum Glück konnte man mit Kreditkarte zahlen und mit Hilfe des Apps von XE nehme ich wie in der HSBC-Werbung: USD, CAD, GBP, EUR und DKK an. Nur AUD wollte ich nicht annehmen, weil ich derzeit keine Pläne für Australien habe. Als Gruppe zahlen wir nur jeder 84,00 DKK (2012 = 11,30 EUR) statt 100,00 DKK (2012 = 13,40 EUR), da wir die 10-er-Karten nutzen können. Sonst hätten bloß die Senioren profitiert, die nur 50% hätten zahlen müssen. Aber das war mir jetzt egal... Hier kann man sich aber bei Strandfaraskip über die aktuellen Preise und Fahrpläne informieren. Die englische Seite für Touristen hilft einem leider wenig weiter. Aber zum Glück kann ich ja etwas Dänisch...

Wir müssen nach Vestmanna. Hierzu müssen wir zunächst mit dem Bus 300 Richtung Flughafen fahren, bevor wir den Bus nach Vestmanna erreichen.
The bus ride made everyone very calm. None of us expected such a spectacular landscape. The calm atmosphere was only interrupted as we had to change somewhere in nowhere at a gas service station into Bus 100. I spoke with the tour operator Jacob who assured again that he would wait for us and he also offered that we should only do a one-way-tour to see more. Selbst die Busfahrt sorgt dafür, dass alle ruhig sind. Niemand hat eine so tolle Landschaft erwartet. Die Ruhe wird lediglich unterbrochen, als wir so mitten in der Landschaft an einer Tankstelle in den Bus 100 umsteigen müssen. Ich spreche unterwegs mit Jacob, der mir nochmals versichert, dass er auf uns wartet und er wird mit uns auch eine Einwegtour machen, damit wir mehr zu sehen bekommen.In Vestmanna sollen wir im Touristenbüro uns melden und dort die Tickets kaufen. Die kosteten 275,00 DKK pro Person (2012 = 37,00 EUR)
In Vestmanna we should see the Tourist Office to buy the tickets. They were 275.00 DKK per person (2012 = 48.00 USD).Here we could also see the only puffins on our voyage and the last chance a toilet for the next 2-3 hours or to buy some beverages.
Hier sehen wir auch die einzigen Papageientaucher der Reise und es ist für die nächsten 2-3 Stunden die letzte Chance eine Toilette aufzusuchen oder Getränke zu kaufen.
We booked with Sightseeing.fo.The communication via e-mail did not work but by phone if you call directly the son: Jacob +298 232360. He speaks very well English. If you call the number on the website, you get the number directly from the son Jacob. I was surprised about two participants who booked directly on their website, but they asked me to make sure that they will not be charged double... What do I have to do with their direct bookings?
Gebucht hatten wir bei Sightseeing.fo. Die Kommunikation über E-Mail lief gar nicht, und telefonisch direkt über den Sohn lief es sehr gut: Jacob +298 232360. Er spricht sehr gut Englisch. Wenn man die Nummer auf der Webseite anruft, bekommt man direkt die Nummer vom Sohn Jacob. Überrascht war ich über zwei Teilnehmer, die es sich ein wenig bequem machen wollten: Sie haben direkt auf der Webseite gebucht und verlangten beim Ticketkauf von mir, dass ich sicherstelle, dass sie jetzt nicht doppelt belastet werden... Was habe ich mit deren Direktbuchungen zu tun?Unser Boot... lustig...

FRIDGERD...Alle sind rückwärts umgefallen... Alle haben mich gehasst... und wenn man sich vorstellt, dass wir Minuten zuvor, das schöne große bequeme überdachte Boot von der NCL-Gruppe gesehen haben, könnt ihr euch schon vorstellen, wie das Entsetzen war...
Everyone blacked out... everyone hated me... and if you imagine that we saw minutes ago a nice big over-roofed boat with the NCL-group you could imagine how upset everyone was...But now I discovered that FRIDGERD had a special history which you can read here. In this report, Sissel Kyrkjebö is mentioned. You might know her from the 1994 Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway: She sang the Olympic anthem.
Was ich erst jetzt entdeckt habe: FRIDGERD hat eine besondere Geschichte, die man hier nachlesen kann. In diesem Bericht wird Sissel Kyrkjebö erwähnt. Sie kennt man: 1994 sang sie die Hymne zu den Olympischen Winterspielen in Lillehammer.Sie war für 24 Personen zugelassen. 20 aus der Gruppe und 2 Mann Besatzung. O.K..

Hoffentlich müssen wir jetzt keine Seenotrettungsübung machen. I was not sure if I would not prefer to be with the sheep on the hillside or here in the boat. Later when Captain told us that Orca-Whales were only waiting for sheep who slid into the sea to eat them, I preferred to stay onboard.
Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich lieber mit den Schafen am Hang sein möchte oder hier im Boot. Als uns hinter der Kapitän erzählt, dass die Orca-Wale nur auf die Schafe warten, die ins Meer abrutschen, um sie zu fressen, bleibe ich lieber an Bord. We passed a salmon farm...
Vorbei geht es an Lachsfarmen... 
The salmons jumped out of the water... that was true... Days later I was thinking again: were on the other boat some tour passengers from NORWEGIAN SUN or the galley crew our ship who did a tour? With big surprise: after the call in Torshavn we had so much salmon onboard...
Die Lachse springen wirklich raus... Tage später fällt mir ein: war das eigentlich Ausflügler von der NORWEGIAN SUN oder die Galley-Crew vom Schiff, die da einen Ausflug unternommen haben? Erstaunlicherweise gibt es nämlich nach diesem Halt in Torshavn erstaunlich viel Lachs an Bord...Was danach kommt, versuche ich mit Worten nicht mehr zu beschreiben. Das war so wie ein Ausflug nach Kauai (Hawai'i), Halong Bay und die Fjorde an einem Ort in zwei Stunden. So etwas habe ich zuvor in meinem Leben noch nicht gesehen.

Even nobody might believe it: we were not in the Caribbean! This color... Das stieß auf besonderes Interesse von Bruno... That was very interesting for Bruno...Because we had the small FRIDGARD, we could enter the grottos and see the rock formation on the ceilings.
Weil wir die kleine FRIDGARD hatten, konnten wir in die Höhlen reinfahren und die Gesteinsformationen an der Decke betrachten.Wir waren schon kurz vor Torshavn. Nur auf der falschen Seite der Insel. Aber die Fahrt hätte so ewig weiter gehen können.
We were already on the level of Torshavn. Only on the wrong side of the island. But the tour could go and go forever.The tour was sold as bird cliff tour. The birds were gone. But the tour was worth to do. The landscape was unique.
Die Tour wurde als Vogelklippen Tour verkauft. Die Vögel sind schon weg. Aber trotzdem hat sich der Ausflug gelohnt. Die Landschaft war einmalig.Wir werden in Leynar abgesetzt. Jacob hat den Busfahrer angerufen, damit er auf uns wartet. Eine tolle Fahrt findet somit ein Ende.
